That defensive lineman's ok but nothing special. Could use another young pass rusher. Can Hightower stay healthy all 16 game? LB's need. In fact I wish we could grab two LBs

"That defensive lineman..." You mean Shelton? I suspect that you may not fully understand what a nose tackle's job is in the Pats defensive scheme if you think he's "nothing special."

WRT linebacker prospects in this draft, it's extremely optimistic to think that any of those left on the board will be significant snap contributors this season. Langi, may well have a better chance. Sometimes, the guys you "need" just aren't there in a particular draft, no matter how much you wish they were.

Anyway, one of Casillas or Bowman would likely help more for 2018.

Edmunds was there. I would have given up 23 and 63 to move up and get him. That's the type of guy we need at LB

He's still just a "prospect" until he's actually playing successfully at the NFL level. Even if he lives up to his billing, can he play two positions simultaneously?

I know and no defensive players in the entire draft. Oh well there's always next year. Its a good thing we traded for a quarterback and picked up Trent Brown! I love it when he pulls to his left and throws the ball downfield on the run.

Just personal feelings. I worry why they want to give up on an alleged good right tackle so fast, and I wonder if it was an overpayment for a guy they don’t value anymore.

Could it be that BB wants to change the identity of the offense, and make it a bit more run heavy in order to preserve Tom?

Brown's weakest area is is run-blocking.

Well, y'know, it's entirely possible that after literally years of intense study of all the QBs who were available in this draft, the Pats came to the conclusion that none of them would really help and decided, instead, to build a better team around whoever the QB is so that even Hoyer would have chance to be competitive, if it came to that.

But, hell, what do they know, right?

Nope he was 253 at the combine. I am talking about tremaine Edmunds. The guy's a freak of nature.
