Floyd could. I assume he wont see the field until week 17. It is a gamble but Mitchell is obviously out for the season and experienced receiver could at least draw some attention from the opposing DBs... like in playoffs two years ago when you had LaFell and Martin basically standing out there as decoys, to free up some space for Edelman and Amendola.
Floyd could? Lol. You mean the Floyd who was inactive for most of the games, is famous for one nice block, had penalties for lining up improperly, was responsible for a crucial INT, and then went on to have a stellar career where he’s caught 9 balls since leaving NE? That Floyd?

That's unacceptable, IMO, in a game where the other speed receiver was getting shut down.
With Dorsett and his lack of production here, I think its less about being a speed target and more about being a respected target.

Hogan been out for what over a month and Dorsett still couldn't cut it.

He had a TD, something Dorsett could not do all season. Someone already mentioned Collie, he came in from the street, had some great catches late in the season. He was a bit player, had his role, no one expected him to have 10 catches 130 yards game.

I believe you have the correct Floyd that he was referring to.

The Patriots need to address back-up TE and WR in the Offseason again...too many question marks.

I heard we were going to sign Steven Jackson and split him out wide.
Dorsett has been getting open, it’s all Brady’s fault. Jackson runs hard, even though he can barely make it back to the huddle. Floyd has picked up the playbook in a matter of weeks, even though he’s inactive. Next it will be Britt. He’ll have a catch or two, and we’ll talk about his projections for 2018 all offseason.

TE yes but what should they do about WR? Have 7 WR on the 53?

JE11, DA, Hogs, MM have all missed time this year and it came after the draft and FA. Thats pretty severe circumstances.

Uh-huh. The one you cited yourself as proof of someone who could come in and learn the system when we discussed how difficult it would be for Dorsett, only a couple of months ago. Gotcha.

He had an easy 20 yard completion last night except Brady totally overthrew him when he was wide open. There was a defensive holding called on him too I believe.
Brady overthrew Allen on that play because Allen was held, and indeed it was called.

I'm not suggesting that he doesn't suck, but I'm saying that the play you cited is not good evidence of his suckage.

Cooks's the wildcard. All that speed and they can't find a way to get him the ball?

He’s doesn’t have moss’s game speed. Brady could throw it as far as he wants and Randy would get it. I don’t think the timing is on point. He’s a smaller guy so Brady has to be more accurate with the long ball. He has made some good catches for us but there has been too many times where Brady has thrown it too short or he can’t gain separation for the real deep ones. He should push off like Antonio Brown.

Well for Britt's sake Cleveland cast offs have done well here recently Sheard and Mingo comes to mind.

This signing is Akin to the Michael Floyd signing towards the end of last season.

This means then you can expect Britt to be shut down for the superbowl if we make it...

Hogan been out for what over a month and Dorsett still couldn't cut it.
Maybe a Hogan signing. He was so hurt yesterday that he could not bring his left foot down in the endzone for fear of re-injuring his shoulder.

He had a TD, something Dorsett could not do all season. Someone already mentioned Collie, he came in from the street, had some great catches late in the season. He was a bit player, had his role, no one expected him to have 10 catches 130 yards game.
Wait, you’re comparing a former first round speedster who had the entire season to learn the system with Edelman, Mitchell, Hogan, and even Gronk (2 games) missing significant time to....

Austin Collie? A guy who was here off an on for three months back in 2013 and totaled 6 catches?

I think the expectations were a bit different. Also, neither of them really picked up the system all that well, and that was with Collie spending 15 hours a day at the facility with Brady and McDaniels.

I think he did fine in his role when he was needed. I’m grateful we had better receivers that we didn’t need to find out how well he learned it.
But you just want to act like your opinion is better than everyone elses and rehash it every time the subjects come up, so I’ll move on.

Dorsett has been on the offense for 8 weeks or so and is a complete non factor... I don't think Britt is gonna make a difference

Wrong. Each player gets to see playing time based on his performance. If you're able to learn the playbook and execute, trust me, you won't be a bench warmer. The reason Dorsett has been a non factor is because he can't climb up the WR depth by virtue of being unable to either grasp the playbook, execute, or both. If Britt can learn the playbook and execute, he'll make a hell of a difference.
