Dorsett has at least as good a chance as Britt of being a contributor. You have your opinion, sure, but I have the SB, where Dorsett played and contributed and Britt watched it on TV.

C'mon "50" the one trick ponyish type just don't work here and that's one of the reasons why Cooks was unloaded. Unlike Cooks... Dorsett haven't proven that he can consistently beat a Defense or command two Defenders. The only reason he played instead of Britt is because he was on the roster all year after the Trade. I would be intrigued if Dorsett improves: up to now he hasn't done more than Britt in this league, even if you compare their first three years. My point if I'm a betting man I would bank of Britt making some noise than Dorsett.

Okay, that's your opinion. Dorsett blocks willingly. I root for both to be world-beaters, but I don't think Britt is higher on the food chain at this point than Dorsett. What they have in common is underwhelming consistency and production. If either or both can shake that, then GOOD!

If not, it's possible neither are there in September and the Pats go with McCarron or Hollister as their #5/ps guy.

Edelman, Hogan, Matthews, Mitchell—those would be my front runners.

Patterson offers something as a KR, so that may give him a leg up.

Dorsett and Britt will be in the mix too, in addition to whatever other receivers are added prior to TC. I don’t really see one having an edge over the other at this point in time. Obviously, that situation could change due to injuries.

I do kinda like Dorsett but JE-Hogan-Matthews-Mitchell-Patterson sounds like a very nice and diverse depth chart at WR. I’d be happy with that being the final crew (+ Slater) assuming everyone catches on well enough.

Saw what you did there at the end

I, for one, am not counting on anything out of Mitchell. Those knees are living on borrowed time.

You understand that a wr playing 50 of 76 snaps in a game where you throw 48 times and he gets 1 catch on 2 targets means he played like **** right?

Here's two:

1) How badly damaged are his legs, and when - if ever - will he be as healthy as he was before he started to break down in Philly?

2) How much will he be paid, how much is the dead cap hit if he is released before week 10, and how does this effect our (should be) 4 compensatory picks in 2019?

Do not know about comp picks in 2019, but remember reading his dead cap hit is about 270K... low risk, possible reward.

No, I don't. When Cooks went out, he was likely the last target in Brady's progression, which means he was doing other things, as well - like taking the safety deep, blocking, etc.

More than half - 26 - of those went to Gronkowski and Amendola.

Dorsett wasn't a world-beater and I never said he was. But he was on the field, Britt was not, and the one catch he did have was huge and clutch.

All I'm saying is that he has as good or bad a chance of making the team as Britt does at this point. The only way I see both sticking is if Mitchell's knees are shot and/or Matthews totally bombs out.

Even BB can't be sure he will be released someday by his alter ego

In this case, would BB the GM be killing BB the coach? Like, for real this time?

How on earth did he sign for that cheap?
He is eager to rebuild his position as WR and be a part of the winning culture. If this season he is on the same page with TB12 he would be rewarded with a new contract. Nevertheless the price is shockingly low.

Whether he has a better chance if sticking than Britt is debatable but his play in the Sb would hurt those chances not help them. There are thousands of people that can go out in the field and have someone cover them or attempt to block and most of them probably could catch 1 pass.
Being ahead of Britt was a function of being there all year rather than a couple of weeks.
Really both could easily be cut, and as of today I think they would go with Edelman hogan Matthews Mitchell and Patterson and I think something drastic would have to happen to change that.

Did he say that or just you?

If the pats draft courtland sutton there’ll be an absolute log jam at receiver. Matthews or mitchell could get cut.
