I don't think so. I simply think it was a guy who was trying to play through an injury. It's not liked he missed everything. The guy made 7 of 8 FG attempts and the one he missed was from 48 yds.
Eventually, instead of getting better, it got worse (the hip, not the kicking) Probably he wasn't able to swing through the ball properly and consistently which caused some of the misses. The fact Schecter says he's going to have surgery means he isn't coming back.
Sh!t I go to the Gym and what I said early about kickers getting injured too comes true. This isn't good, but we have 3 more weeks before we hit the iron of our schedule and thus 3 more weeks to find the right guy.
At this point id like to see Bionic Bailey handle kickoffs.I scrolled through specifically to see if someone offered this comment.
Ghost was bad this year for sure, but Patriots fans below a certain age have no concept of just how bad kicking can get. You can't assume that some random unsigned scrub kicker who is unemployed in October is going to be better. Kickers can always be worse.

It has been mentioned that the injury which place him on IR is believed to have happened in game. These are paid professionals. If they aren't listed on the injury report they are presumed healthy enough. Yes not every scrape or bruise is listed, but that's football. I'm not trying to tell you Gost was absolutely 100% cause I don't know. Nor does anyone outside of the organization.
I'm telling you if it was serious to a degree where it effected him drastically he should have been on the injury report or listed as probable or questionable. The fact they never even considered the possibility of sitting him at any point means they believed he was healthy enough to do the job.

Those things are going to Jupiter anyways...
Again, that's ridiculous. Players play with injuries all the time, and those injuries can obviously hamper performance. Anyone who's ever played sports understands that.
Of course they can. Edelman played with hurt ribs this week and it sure looked like it hampered his performance. He was listed on the injury report and there was real debate on if he could or should play this week.
We have a lot of information on injuries like those. We don't a lot on Gost. All we know is he was banged up. He wasn't forced as far as I know to sit out a single practice in the regular season. He was able to make kicks and kick out the back of the endzone up until he got hurt (or more hurt) in game. He made several kicks and so he was able to kick effectively at times. He wasn't ever listed on the injury report or considered questionable or probable for a game. They never felt the need to bring in anyone else or sit him for a game before his injury.
That is all I know. That is all i think anyone on this board knows as far as I know. Going by that I feel strongly he should have done the job better before he was injured in game.
A hip problem for a kicker IS an excuse. Christ, instead of dumping on the guy who happened to hit on 87% of his FG, why not praise him for making that many DESPITE his injury.Come on Ken. Enough with the excuses for ghost
Lack of kicking foot.
