Where did I deny Brady has thrown hospital balls? The play you referenced is not one of them.

the bottom line here is ALL QB's throw 'hospital balls" on occasion. They have to some times to get the yards they need. The issue is the number of times they do it and if they had other options. BTW ANY time a receiver has to make a slant or incut by definition its a potential "hospital ball". Should QB's take those routes out of the offense. Of course not. What Cam did was part of the game and while it is true that Peyton Manning threw his receivers a myriad of hospital balls over the years, he's the ONLY one who did it on purpose.

My original complaint was not about criticizing Newton for the throw, but the LEVEL of furor for that one throw. Jones will eventually not see a LB or S coming from the opposite side of the ball and throw a few too. I HAS to happen. You don't want it to happen and you try like hell not to have it happen but it will and DOES happen all the time. Its football. All receivers know it when they sign up for the position..

All that said, Bedard wasn't happy with the Pats performance and gave the day to the Eagles. Although he put in more on the fact that the Pats ramp up mores slowly compared to most teams and this is the first practice they had at such an intensity. Also this is a new staff lin Philly looking to create a culture and clearly their staff WANTED to win the day. He fully expects the Pats to do better on both sides of the ball tomorrow.

Cant wait.
