Patriots draft meetings

Kirk and Moore are interesting athletic profiles. Strong run after the catch ability. Downfield speed. Neither are that big, but they're both good at separating on a variety of routes. Both are receiving end of the first buzz, too.

I know that Moore is seen as competition for Ridley as first WR off the board. I really don’t see B.B. picking a first WR (essentially two years in a row). I think this is a) future planning a la Brandin Cooks and b) a useful yardstick by way of comparing other WRs like, possibly, Anthony Miller.

Check out his highlights sometime. He belonged at a higher level of competition. Good 50/50 guy.

Did a quick search on YouTube and couldn’t find a highlight reel. 6.85 3-cone and 4.06 shuttle at 6’2” is very nice, especially on the back of a 4.36 forty time. Interesting day 3 guy.

A draft of just these players would make me pretty happy. Thanks for the link!

Interesting

If Josh McDaniels is the future I kind of feel that he’d be all in on Jackson.

I didn't see any reports of Caserio meeting with Jackson. How do we know they weren't looking at Alexander, instead? He's a perfect inside/outside corner for us.

I really like Alexander at cb
And would be thrilled if we took him at 31.
But I doubt he makes it past 25.

If Jackson is on the board at 31, highly unlikely, then bb has a golden chip to use in a trade because I can not see bb being interested in Jackson as a qb.

They could have been looking at both. But, unless New England is planning to move away from the EP, the Wonderlic score that Jackson got is very troublesome. I don't think it's a deal breaker, but it's something to monitor. He's either as dumb as a rock or he shrugged it off and just Christmas tree'd it.

Ehh, 13 is not a great score, but several good QBs were in the teens (Marino at 15 for example). Jackson already plays in a modified EP system anyway, so I don't see the transition as that big of a concern.

Off topic, but how fun would it be to draft Lamar Jackson and Sony Michel? That could be an explosive offense a few years down the road. I'd love to see the stress that puts on defenses.

Actually! The Browns will probably never win anything, so they should just aim to entertain. Barkley 1st overall, trade down slightly from 4 for an extra 3rd, take Jackson, trade 33 + the 3rd for OBJ, and just annihilate the league with RPO. I would watch that every week.

Eh, if the Browns get a QB, that’s actually a pretty talented squad. I’m thinking they’ll go with Darnold first overall. If Barkley slips to their second pick, that’s quite a haul.

Yeah, that's clearly the serious and more professional way to do it. No argument there. My way is more fun and probably still improves on 1 - 31. ;)

Patriots have a lot of interest in running backs so far this draft season.

Most mocks have guice available at 31. He would be a huge win for us.

Am i correct that out of all the players the pats have met with over the past several years of visits at the combine, that Florida state of og Jackson is the only one we have drafted?

If you believe the internets, add PJ Hall to the list. DT, Sam Houston, 6'0, 308

Hall shines at Pro Day - The Houstonian

"The Patriots had taken PJ Hall out to dinner the night before, and showed great interest in the former Bearkat."

Stork?

The only other Florida St. draftee in BB's tenure was PK Sam back in 2004.

Perhaps there's simply some extra entertainment value in visiting with FLST prospects?
