Monday's headline: Mallett Outduels Manning, leads Patriots to 42-31 win.

This place is slipping....

Brady is a dog faker.

This is a brilliant bit of strategy by BB. The national media is telling Denver they will win already. Give them another reason to believe they can't lose. TB12 is sick? How can they beat the messiah with a sick qb? Even though they won't say so out loud the they will be booking rooms in NY. Then we lay the hammer down.

Mostly kidding!

What worries me is that Brady was sick last week too. I hope that he's not going through the same process that you did.

Yeah. I was remembering that he was sick with something last week and wondering if something's been building...

Dad took 2 weeks to get over his flu...but brady is basically a god in my book so he should be fine

This is why I said we should sign Tebow in that thread asking who we should sign with our opened roster spot a couple of days ago.

Seriously at this point, I am not even surprised? I didn't want to say it, but I have been thinking about this for some time now...that's all that was left to happen....it would be fitting to this season.

If it's serious, I guess we'll just have to win the Superbowl with Mallet.

Honestly my initial reaction was that this was potentially a little psychological warfare to up the pressure on Peyton even more.

The expectation is that the Broncos are favorites and should win - even more so now if Brady is said to be experiencing and illness.

I think the more Manning contemplates the importance of this as a major Legacy Game for him, the higher potential he has to choke, and I think even his old organization, the Colts, would admit they didn't want Manning facing the challenge of a perfect season way back when, and pulled their starters and tanked a game just to relieve that pressure

I got a sense that Manning responded in kind by naming Belichick the Greatest Coach of All Time, trying to even expectations for this game

But overall, my feeling is the Patriots and Brady have nothing to lose in this unexpectedly strong season, whereas Manning in particular has everything to lose.

"What is a dog faker?"

I believe I have finally answered the greatest question to ever dog this forum....

Not that I mean to nitpick or act argumentative, JSP, but I'm not sure this "we've got nothing to lose" idea is quite as accurate as many are trying to make it up to be.

We've got just as much to lose as they do....the opportunity to play for the NFL's championship game with another Super Bowl appearance. NE is going to their 3rd consecutive AFCCG, and haven't been able to produce a championship yet. I get what you're saying of course, but I'm not as sure as you may be that they don't have anything to lose, and all the pressure is on Manning etc. I think this is a popular misconception. We know that Brady and Belichick are highly competitive too, so I don't imagine that they are taking this too lightly.

Brady: "Man, I feel like sh-- ... WHOA! I'm cured!"

Hell--I'll dress up, take one for the team, and go over and be Brady's nurse myself if it means winning the AFC Championship and going to the Super Bowl.

The sad thing is, I'm really only half-joking

In the meantime, I'm not really feeling Giselle's "hippy" no-makeup look, or whatever you'd call that. She looks like a 6th grader who just woke up out of bed.

Cant we kill Aiken and catapult his carcass over the Donkeys compound walls.
I thought the New England Patriots acted in accordance with the aforementioned towards Marquice Cole after he was burnt to a crisp by Miami wide receiver Mike Wallace.

Cole wasn't too hot when he played in coverage, but he was a good enough ST player. I wouldn't expect him to be able to keep up with a guy like Mike Wallace, to be honest with you. There's a pretty big talent gap there.

It would seem that once we got our secondary healthier, Cole was obviously expendable. Who knows if he would've been called on again, but it would have likely been an option if one of our CBs went down.

No offense, but I never want to see Marquice Cole wear a New England Patriots uniform ever again. It's time to move on from "special teams only" cornerbacks.

Understandable enough, although Belichick does rate STs pretty highly. Hopefully we can continue to improve at the position with some of the younger players like L.Ryan, etc.

Nothing official, but the reporters have been tweeting this morning that Brady is at the facility and expected to practice.

I just heard NFLN say the same!!:singing: :woot::clap2::hail:

Yep. NFL Mobile just confirmed that Brady is at Gillette as we speak.

Comes down to would you rather have a JAG player who won't contribute much or a ST stud like Slater who can contribute a lot and make a difference in a game. Much rather have guys like Slater over someone like say Quentin Simms. Yeah he'd be better at wide out but, he's not going to do much. Can't blame Cole for being put in a position he's not good at.
