Hopefully Brown and Sow can add stability.

Sow is inexperienced, so maybe Wheatly who has marginally more time in the league? Lowe seems like a long term backup but better than McDermott. I never thought much of McDermott with virtually no upside. Anderson appears at some point?

Definitely a turnstile. Maybe all year.

Maybe?

As do I, though the better move would've been for Bill to swap 4th- & 6th-rounders with old friend Monti in AZ for Josh Jones, egg-zactly as he did 4 years earlier for Jermaine Elmanure, an inferior player.
Yeah, I was surprised we didn't make a move for him. But I have a hard time judging these moves until I know how long Reiff and Anderson are going to be out.

Look around the league, no roster is completely set.
Agreed, and your right.. but teams that are in contention I'm sure don't have the dissary we have with thier O lines..

You can't just take these picks out of context and say they disregarded LT. They took Gonzalez and Keion White over the LTs who couldv'e helped us.

As for Ryland, there are only 2 OTs taken after him, Jaelyn Duncan and Carter Warren. If these guys turn into starters, only then can you say it was bad decision making in the draft.

Warren McClendon... One of Klemm's OTs from Oregon... Jake Witt... and Ryan Hayes.

I wouldn't wait to make a trade I thought would help me just because of those two dudes; neither of them, especially Reiffer, rate that respect here.

Pats didn't make the POs last season.
2021 was a playoff season.

2022 was not.

Kraft is not going to fire Bill for an 8-9 record following a playoff year.

If they go 8-9 or worse this year all bets are off as they will be 2 years removed from the playoffs.

If they didn't roll at the end of last season, then I don't expect them to roll at the end of this season either.

I only see Bob making a change if something extreme happens such as they don't make the playoffs, lose every divisional game and have a losing record to name a few.

Aside from that, Bob doesn't want to reset at his age. Firing Bill, but promoting someone within and keeping the same staff doesn't make sense as well.

Sure it make sense.

You don't need to know how the chicken salad is made if the food on your plate tastes good. Building a roster is an iterative process that includes reacting to what is learned during training camp. With the leftover players, FA signings and draft picks, the team did not have a fundamental problem going into training camp. Multiple injuries and an illness that impacted the same position created the situation. It is not uncommon to come out of training camp with an obvious need that is addressed as part of the finalization of the roster. If the other starters return to health Sow is the only new member of the line, things will be ok. I am glad that the team was proactive in bringing in some depth to prepare for the injuries that will happen over the course of the regular season. More promising is the fact that these guys are not the typical retreads and may actually make the team better over the next couple of seasons.
"The team did not have a fundamental problem going into training camp." Sorry, but that is just preposterous. I do not think there was a single commentator who would have said prior to camp that the team had "no fundamental problems": not one. As for your abuse of my analogy, if you look in the pantry and see chickens--t, you KNOW you're not going to get chicken salad however many iterations may follow in the preparation of the dish. I think there are certainly valid objections to my post - I could do a good job of arguing the other side myself - but you didn't come close to hittting on any of those arguments. Take as an example, "More promising is the fact that these guys are not the typical retreads and may actually make the team better over then next couple of seasons," first of all, that is a wholly unsupported assertion as you offer it; second, a portion of them are precisely "typical retreads" and third, your "maybe actually make the team better over the next couple of years" is so hedged and qualified an 'assertion" that it hardly asserts anything at all, as well as being, again, wholly unsubstantiated. Finally, as for their having been "proactive in bringing in some depth to prepare...," first of all, it wasn't very PROactive at all, as that word implies that they did something well ahead of time, something it is flamingly obvious they did not do, and second there is essentially no evidence to this point that having any of these athletic paragons "prepares" us for anything whatever, except perhaps for failure. Again, there are certainly reasons to object to my thesis, but your post suggests you are in the dark as to what those objections are.

Then that’s not a good sign if other players went through Covid and were able to play.
Multiple players didn’t play or played partial seasons because football was canceled.

Many were awarded another year of eligibility. Many rookie players coming out the past few years will be older. That doesn’t make them worse.

They have disarray somewhere, football is hard.
