Mentioned this in the other thread about Patriot Roster Cutdowns..

Marsh actually played DT (freshman year) , DE, OLB and TE in College. He lined up on the line in Goalline situations and caught 2 passes. He was over 300 lbs as a freshman and was down to 245/250 last season playing OLB.

Here is what NFL Draftscout.com had to say:

"He played at 300-pounds as a true freshman and provided quality depth up front before dropping weight and lining up in more of a 5-technique role as an upperclassman."

"He projects as a NFL back-up, best suited as a one-gapping DE in a four-man front who can also move inside on passing downs or stand up and drop into space - mid-to-late round prospect who offers versatile depth."

"Used in short-yardage and goal line situations at times on offense - two career catches, two career receiving scores...versatile experience, lining up mostly nose-to-nose with the OT in UCLA's three-man front, but has experience moving inside, outside and dropping into space"

The one concern they mention is this:
"tends to freelance at times and not play assignment sound football."

We know that BB won't stand for that. Hopefully he's broken that bad habit and can be a big contributor, much the way some others guys that size have been..

James Ferentz signed to PS

While we are waiting to find out who the final two practice squad spots go to, the Patriots have assigned uniform numbers to the three new players. Good news is that nobody was given the dreaded number 17.

Bademosi's #29 was most recently worn by LeGarrette Blount. It was also worn by the great WR Harold Jackson, when he was unfortunately past his prime in the Fairbanks - Erhardt Schaefer Stadium days.

Devin Lucien had been wearing Dorsett's number 13. Not much history to this jersey (Joey Galloway, Bam Childress, Ken Walter, Tommy Hodson).

Cassius Marsh should be able to improve on the history of #92. Geneo Grissom, Jake Bequette and Albert Haynesworth were the most recent to wear this number. Ray Agnew and Ferric Collins were the most notable number 92's.

Darius Kilgo has been released.

Patriots signed DeMarcus Ayers to the PS 9/4. Turned down signing with the Steelers.

Yesterday's rumors confirmed: Brandon Bolden re-signed.

With Darius Kilgo released and DeMarcus Ayers signed to the Practice Squad, that means the 10th Practice Squad spot is still available. Can't help but wonder if that means the decision on that final PS player has already been made

A few uniform number changes:

Croston's #74 had last been worn by Woodrow Hamilton. Most notably worn by Shelby Jordan and Kyle Love. Also worn by Nate Solder in 2011.

Hollister's #47 was worn by Glenn Gronkowski up until a few days ago. Best player to wear that jersey was Robert Edwards back in 1998.

Jonathan Freeny had #55 since 2015. Marsh inherits a number made famous by Willie McGinest from 1994 to 2005.

Patriots Put Shea McClellin on IR.
Patriots signed Brandon Bolden
Patriots signed Willie Beavers OG/OT

Patriots signed Angelo Blackson to the PS.
