Texans (1), Broncos (2), Chargers (5), and Seahawks (6)

1 (SEA), 2 (HOU), 3 (DEN), and 9 (LAC) if you go by points against in the regular season.

For comparison, below is every Super Bowl-winning QB since 2000 and the total defense rankings of their playoff opponents that year. Mahomes in 2023 is the only one who played a top-10 defense every round, and even then, all four were outside the top-5.

'00 Dilfer: 24-1-17-5
'01 Brady: 18-1-3
'02 Johnson: 14-4-11
'03 Brady: 12-11-8
'04 Brady: 29-1-10
'05 Roethlisberger: 28-11-15-17
'06 P. Manning: 16-1-6-5
'07 E. Manning: 2-9-11-4
'08 Roethlisberger: 25-2-19
'09 Brees: 20-6-18
'10 Rodgers: 12-16-9-2
'11 E. Manning: 12-32-4-31
'12 Flacco: 26-2-25-3
'13 Wilson: 4-5-19
'14 Brady: 8-11-1
'15 P. Manning: 21-9-6
'16 Brady: 1-12-25
'17 Foles: 9-1-29
'18 Brady: 9-31-19
'19 Mahomes: 28-21-2
'20 Brady: 2-4-9-16
'21 Stafford: 11-13-3-18
'22 Mahomes: 24-7-3
'23 Mahomes: 10-9-6-8
'24 Hurts: 5-26-13-9

That's why I wanted the Rams. Maybe Darnold isn't as good as Stafford but Drake has struggled against these defenses. He has no room to breath.

Hopefully with 2 weeks and better weather he will regroup and find his regular season self.

If he does and they pull it off, that would be quite the run by any team ever.

Things like this have me strongly considering bringing back the analysis of the sort I did prior to SB51. I don't know what it will look like, but the Pats have a hell of a game ahead of them. Wild that Seattle may be possibly one of the easier defenses they've faced in the postseason.

Seattle is the first team they will play that also has a great offense. They slso have an elite ST's. The last test is always the toughest I guess.

But yeah, what a gauntlet.

They also have one of the best if not the best ST units. This is going to be a huge challenge.
