I was reading the Chargers fan forum and the common theme is not wanting to play the Patriots after a loss. For the most part they are right to be concerned.

The Patriots are 36-4 after a loss back to and including the 2003 season, and 19-3 since '09. In their last three games coming off a loss the Patriots average margin of victory after a regular season loss is 27.7 points.

That said, I do not like the Patriots on the road at San Diego on natural grass. The Chargers are coming off of a gutsy road win at Baltimore, and are on a role. This is the last of the series of gunslingers, and Rivers had great outing in Baltimore and seems to be feeling it. Yet again, the Patriots face a team with lots of weapons and a so-so defense.

I hope the loss adds some fuel to the fire. Staying in control of their destiny is critical this week.

How can a team that beat the raiders 13-6 and rams by 3 points a few weeks ago suddenly be on a roll?

A dub is a dub. Denver just dropped one to the rams and we played an even closer game with the Raiders this season.

Those #s are pretty wow. Brady always pissed the next go around

Anyone know what their record is when trailing at Halftime since [pick a year]? I know they are unbeatable when leading at HT.

Yes, but did anyone say NE or Denver was "on a roll" at the time?

BB will have us losing right off the bat by deferring the kickoff.

I take it you have erased the season opener at Miami from your mind. Wished I could

Of those wins and losses, I wonder how many of them came on back to back road games, not that any of that matters for this game..

Going back to 2010, NE is 5-0 on the second leg of back-to-back road games after losing the first.

Interestingly, there were only three other times that they played B2B road games, and they went 2-1 in those after winning the first. So that means they went 7-1 overall in the second of two consecutive road games. It also means if you are looking for a loss in the 2015 schedule, two road games is a good place to start. In 8 tries, NE only swept them twice.

What about a second consecutive road game after a loss where the temperature is under 30, they run less than 25 times and Belichick wears his grey hoodie?

...what? You're looking at me like I said something.

Thanks for that Oswlek. I guess it's safe for me to pick the Pats this week. I wanted to pick against them last week, but I can never get myself to hit the reply button when I do that. So I changed it.
