Passing of the tourch.

Unlike many Pats fans I enjoy watching this type of trollishness from a losing fan.

I got the same kind of kick from a Rams fan in 2001 who claimed that the reason he knew the game was fixed because of how quickly the NYFL had the red, white and blue confetti flying through the air.

On a more serious note, I think Mahomes was pretty much exposed by the style of defense that the Pats played. They kept him in the pocket and gave him the look that he could step up, only to have a defender come up in that gap. He looked lost on a lot of plays.
And he looked great on more of them. In my opinion, he's the real deal. And also in my opinion, thinking he isn't the real deal is like fantasy-thinking that Brady's done and/or a system QB. Neither is true.

You do not throw 50 TDs in your first season playing without serious ability. I don’t care if you have Randy Moss at one WR and Jerry Rice at the other.

A lot of broken plays. See what happens when the D coordinaters have a season of tape, and or he gets injured or his favorite weapon gets hurt.

Time will tell, but Mahomes does not seem like the type to not respect the game. He will most likely improve his game and work on his weak points - others have tape sure, but he can add to his game too.

The 2014 AFCCG was almost a mirror image of this one in the sense that Brady staved off Andrew Luck for one more year but Luck will dominate the AFC very soon. He was as hyped up as Mahomes, and all offseason pundits picked the Colts to win it all with Luck an MVP shoo-in. Since the savior Luck was drafted, Brady has four SB appearances, two Super Bowl MVPs, a regular season MVP and leads the NFL by a large margin in winning percentage while among the very best by every statistical measure. People would have laughed at the “arrogant, homerish” Pats fans in 2014 for honestly saying they wouldn’t trade Brady straight up for Luck, even at their ages.

Right and I don't disagree that Brady has a VERY high football IQ. I think Mahomes is way ahead of most players at his age looking as what he has done.

But I think the toughest part when I say passing the torch is not to say that Brady is bad, the whole point of the thread was watching them both play was very obvious that the torch had been passed. If it was an individual sport of course he is a better player, I don't think anyone would argue with that but its not. I just can't get over so many of you ( not all but most) holding on to the idea that he is the best in the league still?

You may have the best 53 men and coach but for the one position of QB you do not anymore. I just don't understand why you get so up in arms about it. Did I say he was bad? no, quite the opposite but Mahomes is doing things that have NEVER been done before, ever, ever in football. So the fact that I'm saying you have the best team and the second best QB is a compliment.

Totally loaded 53-man roster with one pro bowl selection besides Brady, and no one else on offense. Chiefs had six, including their left tackle, wide receiver, tight end, and fullback, while their lead RB was a lock before getting cut. If only Mahomes had what Brady had, right?

Yea he just hung 31 in the second half and almost won the game..... great D

Mahomes had great stats. Congratulations to him on a tremendous 2nd full season as a starter and a likely MVP season.

You never answered the question.

If you need to win one game as your life depends on it , who would your choose? Tom or Mahomes?

Mahomes and its not even close. Then I’d take Brody second

Almost

I love how you cry about correct calls but have yet to respond about the illegal pick play not called, or the Kelce OPI or the other numerous calls and non calls that even gave your boy a chance to not be completely embarrassed at home, but still losing. Then again KC losing at home in the playoffs should be a familiar feeling for you. Or maybe not considering you seem more like a Mahomes "nob" gobbler than a Chiefs fan.

Rational Chiefs Fan can’t comment right now. He’s watching the pro bowl and hearing about how amazing sideshow Bob is. By the way, 7/14 in that game...looks like it really is just the system in KC.
Amusingly, Dee Ford has been lining up offside in the game.

An irrational take, for sure.

Why would you want to pass on the most clutch QB (particularly in big game settings) in league history? It’s almost like you’ve never seen a more athletically gifted QB before. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that you’re below the age of 25.

If it's so obvious, how come Mahomes could complete barely 50 percent of his passes. I mean...the torch was clearly passed, right? So what gives? Why was he horrible for long stretches of the game?

Eh. Luck still hasn't had a single season nearly as good as the one Mahomes had this year. He didn't really break out until he was in his third full season of starting and even then he wasn't close to what Mahomes was this year. Mahomes is and will be great. He's just not as great as TB.

Durr, only system QBs care about completion percentages

This genuflection before Patrick M is disturbing. The Chefs are so desperate for relevance that they unwittingly foster these delusions.

..or he's a troll, clueless or is Pat Mahomes's dad

Luck and Mahomes have one thing in common. They've never beaten Tom Brady.
