OT- What will Goodell do? Colin Kaepernick sits during national anthem

This isn't about the validity of his view point, it is about his actions in the NFL, the NFL who have branded themselves as flag waiving, military loving, all american. His actions hurt the NFL's reputation and Goodell has absolute right, and per him, duty, to protect the image of the NFL. Freedom of speech is not an issue as this deals with the government restricting speech. many employers fire people for what they say and do at work which hurts the brand. The courts have rules Goodell has absolute rights to do as he sees fit under article 46.

I think the majority of NFL fans will hate this and that hurts the NFL. The NFL brand is full of waiving american flags and flyovers.

The majority of NFL fans hate a lot of things the NFL does. This is something one individual player chose to do. Nobody who thinks things through will tie that to either the 49ers or the NFL.

Here's where your logic train derailed.

“Players are encouraged but not required to stand during the playing of the National Anthem,” the NFL said in a statement issued Saturday, in response to the controversy that emerged when 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick opted not to stand during the playing of the national anthem on Friday night in Santa Clara, prior to a game against the Packers.

NFL: Players are encouraged but not required to stand for national anthem

And there it is. We can all move on, now.

Our long national nightmare is over.

It's not over there, I demand to know what everyone from Tim Tebow to Obama thinks about this.

The irony is that he sits on his ass and disrespects the nation that afforded him the right to do so.

Too much of that already. Disrespectful, entitled bums

Tim Tebow: God loves Kaepernick

Obama: If I had a son, he'd be just like Kaepernick

Sam Kinison's ghost: $%$@%%&^$%^&*$#*%#@
Brady: I don't know what happened so I can't comment.

Mazz: Brady refuses to condemn Kaepernick's actions HOW DARE HE?!!

Felger: Belichick's arrogance is rubbing all over him, Tony.

Then a thousand articles later about how Brady supports Kaepernick, he is now the face of a social justice moment.

Brady: I don't know what happened so I can't comment.

Mazz: Brady refuses to condemn Kaepernick's actions HOW DARE HE?!!

Felger: Belichick's arrogance is rubbing all over him, Tony.

Kraft: I dunno... what did Roger say?

No they went over there so that Colin Kapernick and YOU are free to have an opinion and be able to state it freely. They DIDN'T fight so that everyone can have the SAME opinions.
********.

Opinions and protests are one thing.

Blatant disrespect is another.

For every person in this country there is minimal amount of respect that must have for this country.

Is this lack of respect and more concern for what people think they are entitled to is why this country is having the problems it is

Brady: I don't know what happened so I can't comment.

Mazz: Brady refuses to condemn Kaepernick's actions HOW DARE HE?!!

Felger: Belichick's arrogance is rubbing all over him, Tony.

And, lest we forget....

Goodell: It is more probable than not that Brady was at least generally aware that Kaepernick, or some other NFL player, might sit during the National Anthem. Four more games!

To say "the black lobby" puts a negative connotation out there that a majority will say what Brit said. He may not have meant it in that manner, but it can be interpreted that way.
It seems to me some people will just over analyze every word until they find a "gotcha" . It's ridiculous. Trolling, I believe.

Why should he? Why can't he stay and fight to right for what he believes is wrong. If everyone left that ever felt some facet of this country's politics, etc had gone off the rails there would be nobody left.
To me, there's a big difference between having issues with what goes on in this country, and completely spitting in the face of it. Doing what Colin did solves no problems.

Hell, there's things about this nations politics that flat out make me sick. But I'm not going to go near that extent.

Stuff like what Colin just did only leads to further splitting two sides apart, rather than bringing them together. I'm not saying he's wrong for feeling the way he feels, he's just helping jack **** by doing what he did.

Of course he has the freedom to express himself, but that doesn't mean I don't have the freedom to express myself by calling him out.

Do not care what this moron does.
Ashamed to think I once thought he'd be a good QB.
His "protest" is free speech.
However his employer does not have to be concerned about the 1st Amendment.

In this country (for now) your are free, and yes even free to be an asshat, Kaepernick has chosen to be one.

Actually it's a brilliant move on his part because when SF releases him, he can claim it's because of this and not his sucky play.

For taking a stand in what he believes in.

Do you consider yourself a U.S. citizen who is a part of a nation of individuals (team) working to better itself through debate, protest and other means?

Because if you do the National anthem is our team's song and Old Glory is our team's banner.

Believe it or not there are people who used to believe, respect and die for that ideology. Some still do.

Sadly Kappydink's actions are more about "me" rather than "we" which is his MO as of late anyways.

I can't stand flag burners. Try starting an inclusive movement by knocking on doors, standing on a soap box or simply voting to express yourself instead of a devisive provocative lazy act that is sure to piss off half the nation.

Anyways Kappydink's actions should be insulting to many which will be forgiven by some and worthless to most.

Of course he has the freedom to express himself, but that doesn't mean I don't have the freedom to express myself by calling him out.

The NFL also has the right to do something. Freedom of speech is that the government can't restrict it. The NFL can absolutely do what they want for a player representing the 49rs and the NFL says on the job.
