Well Carr officially benched

Wow. I don't think McDaniels was ever bought in on Carr but he was smart about it. Had Carr buying in to the point he was crying in a presser defending his HC. Then Josh gives him enough rope to hang himself with a benches him. What an evil mf'er. Gotta love it.

Clearly, they are benching Carr to avoid having to pay the guaranteed $32 million in the event of an injury next season. In fact they will likely have to release him before the Super Bowl so they’re not on the hook for that money. I actually think Brady to Las Vegas makes a great deal of sense for next year. Reunion with Josh and some outstanding receivers especially Adams, Renfroe and a great tight end for him to work with. Seems like a match made in heaven.

I could see it. Reunion with Josh, stacked offense, pass protection issues can be mitigated with the quick release time, and only a few pieces needed on D. I’d rather it be the Raiders than the Dolphins or the Jets.

I wonder if Josh and Bill have already discussed a Mac Jones trade for 2023. The Raiders would have a pretty sizeable amount of cap space if they released Carr and replaced him with Mac on a rookie deal. Josh clearly wants a guy who is familiar with and can be productive in his offense.

Maybe that was the long time Josh had with him on the field?
The conversation here be patted him and whispered in his ear.

Why would we help out the Raiders? And if he can be productive in the raiders offense wouldn't that show it was our coaching staffs fault....and we shouldn't give him away for pennies on the dollar?

To move to what? Zappe?

I Googled "Mac Jones highlights against the Bears" but nothing came up. But Mac did finish that game with a 16.7 passer rating before being pulled.

Mac should clearly be cut because he didn't play well against the Bears. I'm sure everyone agrees.

That was a really terrible throw by Zappe, other than Meyers lateral it is one of the worst I have ever seen tbh. I can see why he never took another snap. Just not ready for the big leagues. This is the NFL not Conference USA. Mac is an NFL QB. That’s TBD for Zappe.

He’s got a lot of work ahead of him to try and change that so he can compete for the job in camp.

Again, why would Brady want to be in the same division as Mahomes or Herbert? At best he’d be competing for 2nd place…

He'll get stronger this offseason just like Jones did and will probably work with a throwing coach because his throwing motion is a little wonky also.

Yeah, this seems to override all the positives. I can't see Brady putting himself in that situation where he's probably playing for a WC spot.

Brady will have a lot of options this off season.
He should take his time.

Garoppolo, probably - if that situation did unfold.
