OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

I don’t think it would have mattered unless Wirfs was fine. Yes I understand he opens up the quick passing game but that entire oline, not just the backup right tackle, seemed to absolutely melt away without Wirfs as the anchor. It was far worse than a sub par backup getting beat.

A combo of Wirfs plus either Brown or Godwin being healthy would have made them Super Bowl favorites. All 3 being healthy? They’d be planning the parade already, absolutely no one could stop that offense.

Yeah, the loss of Wirfs really hurt. He is really, really good. Tampa’s O Line was good, but not as great as their stats in terms of giving up sacks goes. Brady genuinely made every OLine he played behind better because of how fast he got rid of the ball.

...

That’s why I said he needs both. He needed a not shell of an o-line and that second legit receiver. Not just one of them.

He didn’t need both AB would’ve won that game he would’ve ran wild on whoever LA put on him it’s a shame Arians is a dumbass and went off on him. Yes AB is to blame but any other coach would know better knowing dudes gone after February anyways

???

He was in good position to win without either, until his DC went Simple Jack.

How does stopping that final Rams drive help in OT or against a pretty damn ferocious 49ers defense?

It’s just too reductive to blame it on one thing. There were three absolutely roster shattering events that happened at the end of the season. Two season ending injuries to irreplaceable players and a psychological break from a guy known for his violent psychological breaks. That’s what did this Bucs team in. It’s almost as tragic as the 2015 Pats who were on pace to be maybe the best Patriots team ever until everything fell apart due to injuries.

I think if they win the toss he wins the SB. That's how crazy things went down this year. Injuries did kill them though just like they have every second year for the last 10 years. Hopefully Burrow can win it but I wonder what the ratings will be for this game.

What are the chances that even IF the Bucs beat the 49ers, who had a team of destiny thing going on for them, that someone else important doesn’t get seriously injured? Maybe their best safety or linebacker again. With their luck this season Brady would have torn his knee.

There are no guarantees and frankly I think the Bucs training and conditioning staff are doing something wrong.

You're kidding with this, right? After all my posts on the roster, my analysis of the game, and the like, and even after this recent post

OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

you're coming at me with that post?

You're being "That guy" for some reason. Don't be that guy.

If you start saying stuff like that then we could never discuss anything. You can't predict further injuries. I'm just saying the path this year after that LA game would be the easiest it's been since Manning had to beat the Bears in the SB. Doesn't matter since they didn't win and maybe if they do KC wins on the other side anyway or things go differently. I don't know anything about their conditioning staff but I do know the Patriots had a year on and year off deal with injuries for some weird reason. I doubt they have bad trainers.

I don’t even know why you responded to that nonsense

The goal-line sequence at the end of regulation + the 3 OT throws is some of the worst quarterback play I've ever seen.
That cost me 200K in Dinglebucks.

He feels like the Pats gave up on him and they did. That was apparent in his retirement statement when he mentioned how Tampa believed him. Imagine just delivering your 6th ring, out dueling Mahomes at his place and being told we don't think you can do it anymore. Come back for one year on less money or good-bye. And that is just the ending not all the nonsense with Alex and the Jimmy stuff.
Speaking of Jimmy G, his ability clearly doesn't match his record. He makes some terrible throws in big moments.

AB may well have cost Brady a title win as a final act. I don't want him getting paid after that.
I briefly heard AB the other day and it doesn't sound like he needs money.

Even with his fines he's made a boatload of money and with his attitude when it comes to paying for things he probably still has a boatload left.

I will say that I am sad that Brady did not mention the Pats. Not because I feel he owes the fans anything but because it really does underscore just how badly things ended here. Even his retirement pic was when he beat us this year at Gillette. I was saying to a friend recently that it is really hard as a fan of the Pats to watch what they did to Brady only to draft a guy like Mac who is literally a QB in Brady's image. Like, you had the GOAT and then got rid of him for a guy that plays like him, and has his traits? It's like divorcing your wife and literally dating a girl who looks just like her but not nearly as gorgeous. I will never understand it. And apparently, neither will Brady. And to me that is so tragic for all of NE today.
All that I ever cared about was what Brady did on the field. That's what I know is true about him because I can see it with my own two eyes. And he was a true life Roy Hobbs but with a full career.

You guys should visit chiefs forum with your second coffee this morning. They truly believe they lost because the game was rigged and their players took a dive. This world has no hope when I read this kind of stuff. These people have a vote in whatever country they live in, or they will when they become of age.

His HOF speech is going to be epic and about the Patriots but no that's not good enough for these people. Let all of this be a lesson to other GMs, you don't **** on your star QBs after 20 years of service. The same fans that talk about 'business decisions' and 'a year early' now want the dude they shipped out of town to blow them.
Or at least a reach-around.

I have been on the forum since Sunday and it has been awesome. They believe Mahomes specifically took a dive because of how bad he played in the second half. They have no football explanation for it. That is probably what makes me chuckle the most. They have also been mentioning Brady non-stop as they know he will never catch him legacy-wise.

I don't get the people who say it's rigged and still watch profusely. Might as well watch WWE instead

I am a bit. I was confused with the Brady backlash but part of me was like "okay fine he's the "enemy". " But now that he's retired I expected a better response from people
They're like bitter ex's.
