OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Honestlly I have kind of mixed feeling on this. I like Fournette, and he's been great, but I also like the way they've used running backs when he's been out. They've been mixing in the smaller, quicker guys like Vaughn on handoffs...they've used RBs in the passing game frequently. I hope they continue to rotate these guys in along with Fournette. I don't know how much of an upgrade Bernard is over Vaughn or Bell. He's more reliable than Vaughn but not as athletic (at his age), and he's maybe just a little better than Bell but is a big injury risk.

But Bucs also struggled against non-playoff teams. They lost 3 to non-playoff teams and recently struggled against the Jets and Panthers for a half. They really need a fast start against the WFT.
They're playing the Eagles, a playoff team not WFT.

Yep, and they got their asses kicked in the second half against the Eagles in the first meeting. People may dismiss that as taking their foot off the gas or playing a soft zone, but that's what they said about the Bucs-Chiefs regular season matchup last year too. This game is far from a gimmie, although the Bucs do seem to own mobile QBs.

Fournette can be utilized in the no huddle though. He gives them that element instead of subbing in and out

Bucs will definitely need David and Barrett back for this game. Barrett sets the edge pretty well that's where the Bucs have been getting attacked lately in the running game. It will be a closer game than a lot of people think, but ultimate they win Brady is patient enough to attack the zone scheme the Eagles love to run on defense. A big tight end game the Eagles allow the most receptions and YPA vs Tight Ends from all the playoff teams.

Also, 3 of their 4 losses were on the road. They're a different team at home. That's why the #2 seed was so important. If GB falls in the divisional, NFCCG goes through Tampa (if they win divisional).

Hopefully playing Hurts can give White something to do instead of running around in circles all game. It will be interesting to see if they put White on Hurts should David play. I agree on the RBs too and I think Vaughn is slowly earning trust. I think I still prefer Lenny though assuming he gets back to where he was.

Fournette was playing like playoff Lenny a few games after the season started to when the Saints decided that Godwin wasn't enough and took him out too. His play and his stats were top 3 or top 5 in the league. If he comes back as playoff Lenny, he will be one of the key pieces for a successful run to the SB.

Looks like a rainy game with wind gusts for Sundayb

Bucs coach Bruce Arians said today that wide receiver Cyril Grayson and running back Ronald Jones are both considered doubtful for Sunday.

The Bucs only did a walk-through practice today, but if they had conducted a full practice, Arians said everyone except Grayson, Jones and outside linebacker Anthony Nelson would have been healthy enough to participate. Arians is optimistic that Nelson, who has an ankle injury, will play on Sunday.

LB Lavonte David, LB Shaquil Barrett (knee brace) RBs Leonard Fournette and Giovani Bernard began their 21-day practice period and can be activated any time off IR. Didn’t see David or JPP. WR Justin Watson, CB Jamel Dean are here.

Rob Gronkowski says the Eagles have a great front four and the secondary works together well. They play it safe and don't allow the big play downfield. "They make you earn it, no doubt about it,'' Gronkowski said.

Rob Gronkowski on meeting with Tom Brady during the week as position groups before games: "Every once in a while, once or twice a week, Tom gets together with the skill players or the offensive line to make sure everybody pays attention to the details..''

Mike Evans on how Tom Brady prepares in the postseason: "He's the greatest football mind we've ever seen...'' Says they saw it in the regular season and just a little bit heightened in the post-season.

"It helps a lot. He's so detailed and he knows what's coming a lot of the time and it allows us to play much faster,'' Mike Evans on Tom Brady's experience.

With the regular season over, here's a good way to visualize how well each NFL team is set up for the offseason. Using the Fitzgerald-Spielberger draft value chart, we can quantify how much draft capital each team has, as well as their effective cap space entering free agency
