OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Man you guys really want them to keep AB after what he did?

AB is not playing the rest of the year for the Bucs. They may keep him on the team for contractual reasons, but after walking out on the team when they were down by 14, he doesn't belong on the same field w/ them. I've been an AB supporter the entire time but he f*cked up on the field.

Brady has gone to the playoffs with less than Gronk, Evans, Perriman, Brate, and Johnson, plus Rojo, Vaughn, Bell and hopefully Lenny.
But Brady can only do so much especially at 44. Look at the piss poor talent of the skill position in the 2019 playoffs. It was a major reason he eventually wanted to and had to leave NE.

I know he still has Gronk and Evans but they are both slower now. Gronk is still a great 2nd or 3rd option but he no longer has the ability to be the #1 focal point.

Keep AB just in case more guys go down. I know part of it is also what exactly is going on with his state of mind.

I think they can put him in some sort of reserve suspended list. Therefore no downside to it. And if he hasn't totally lost it( a big if) a competitor might scope him up if releases.

If BA hadn't effectively torched all the bridges, and the team had been in favor of it, I'd have had no problem. But BA did burn the bridges.

That's right, good defenses will deal with Gronk and Evans pretty easily between the 20s and flood the middle of the field with some additional stunts or whatever on 3rd down. They need a guy that can win inside and once they reach the redzone if the defense wants to use a combination of 4 guys on Gronk and Evans then that helps TB.

yes keep ab

Then he can suck it up and take the hit with the scum of society media if his team wants that. If not curaut the crazy man.

Brady in his podcast tonight is really not giving the impression AB coming back is on the table or even that he wants him to come back. It led to a discussion of athletes like Simone Biles, Naomi Osaka, Calvin Ridley where Brady was really supportive of them being open with their issues and taking a step away.

So read the tea leafs.

Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, in his post-game comments from Sunday, called for empathy and compassion for receiver Antonio Brown. In the latest episode of his Let’s Go! podcast on SiriusXM, Brady reiterated his hope that Brown is able to get through the issues he’s currently dealing with.

Sorry Heisenberg, but the man quit on the team. I mean I personally don't care about him being a POS or anything as long as he doesn't break laws and what not, but quitting on the team that's pretty damning

His head isn't in the game. Bucs don't need any distractions with playoffs about to begin. Let Brady have reps with the young guys. They are tall and fast. They have the GOAT throwing to them. Time to step up. It is what it is.

offense will have a rough time against the Rams and/or Packers. Ramsey/Alexander on Evans, double Gronk and that leaves guys like Perriman, Grayson, Johnson needing to win the game

They do need to get mpre creative on offense thats for sure. As long as the Oline continues to protect Tom they way they have minus the Saints games, they can score 25 pts and up. The defense does need to come to play though things did get tougher.

I wonder if David and Barrett are expected to be hampered by their injuries even when they come back? if they are then that makes things even rougher because the defense is going to have to do a lot more now. no relying on the offense now to put up 30 points through sheer talent

David will be fine he had a foot injury so by playoff time it should be good to go. Barrett on the other hand is the tricky one those MCL/ACL sprains are hard to determine how much it can affect the player.

In my opinion, coaching will be what prevent the Bucs winning the Sb. BA system is only based on talent. He can’t win without it and has 0 idea what to do when he doesn’t have talent. I don’t think Leftwich is that great. They are both riding the TB12 train.

there is absolutely 0 creativity in the playbook. It’s all based on players winning their matchup. They never scheme players open. Never ! I hate GB and Rodgers but LaFleur is one of the most creative coach in the league. Why Rodgers is throwing so few INT? It’s, one, because he is risk averse but two, it’s also because he hasn’t had many really though throw to make. GB is like #1 or #2 in WR separation. GB are scheming people open all the time.

it’s time for BA and Leftwich to earn their money and stop riding on Brady’s back. If they want to win anything they have to be much more creative to get guys like Johnson, Perriman and Grayson open. I would say even Evans and Gronk. Evans is a great vertical and contested catch guy but if he doesn’t have anyone to take the focus out of him, he is a non factor.

The bucs offense has been really good this season (#2 in points, #1 in yards) especially compared to last year. I really don't get all the angst at all. The only game the offense really struggled was the Saints game because they literally lost all their pass catchers and RB1 in the first half.

I think we all are focusing way too much on the offense. The defense is what's been the issue this entire season and we'll see now that the secondary is healthy and hopefully the other guys who got injured come back how they perform.

They are #1 because they are passing the most. It’s a volume stats. They are only 13th in avg per pass attempts. They are fine when at least 3 of the 4 (Evans, Godwin, Gronk and Brown) play. If less, they struggle.

where was the #1 offense against WSH, 2nd against Buffalo, 2nd half against Philly? Their offense is not their main problem but I think you are mistaken if you think that they can continue what they have been doing this year without Godwin and Brown and think they will be rolling in the playoff.

I wouldn’t. Brady’s won with less than what he has now and the NFC field isn’t exactly a bunch of powerhouse defenses. Brown quit on the team in the middle of a game and made a spectacle out of doing so. They should suspend him and move forward without him. Let Tyler Johnson take the reps and see what you have there.
