OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Nope BB laid out the frame work on stopping Brady
Hope the weather, along with nerves, results in Brady throwing more off balls than normal, while having the TE2 suck all night, the officials miss calls all night, and the receivers drop touchdowns and misread back shoulder throw situations?

I'll put this here so our forum brethren don't freak out over a critical analysis.

I was watching Cowerd with Greg Cosell earlier this week and Cosell said that Brady missed a lot of throws that he normally makes and his performance had nothing to do with what Belichick did to confuse him. I wanted to watch some film and ran across the below analysis of the Bucs offense. You can see in the film that Brady misses a lot of throws to open receivers. There were also several drops for big gains and miscommunication with his receivers. From watching the film and others:

1. AB consistently burned JJones. He ran right past him at least three times; the two TD passes he missed/dropped, and on the catch by Evans on the crossing route where AB again ran past JJ and was wide open for another easy TD. Brady also sailed two short passes to the right where AB was again wide open.
2. Brady wasn't connecting with Brate: the over throw where he's wide open on a crossing route to the sideline; and a dropped pass, again wide open on a seam route. His overthrow in the EZ to Brate, possible communication issue there.
3. Evans dropped pass in the RZ, again wide open, possible TD.
4. Tyler Johnson quitting on his route after beating the CB, pass sails high.

Aside from the emotions of this game (return to Foxboro) and the nasty rain, Brady just played poorly. I agree with Cosell, Brady wasn't confused at all, he just missed passes that he would normally complete or his receivers dropped them; but for the most part they were wide open.

After watching this film, I'm not sold on Pats secondary. Aside from JC Jackson who is a good CB, I don't trust Mills at all. Something is wrong with JJ. I saw him hobbling during the game, was he maybe injured? This secondary could be exposed by guys like Prescott with Lamb/Cooper/Schultz and Herbert with Williams/Allen/Cook.

Also, look at Judon during the run plays. Not impressive.

Great find. I forgot about these videos. These are the best analysis of their games.

Bucs would roll the Pats if they were at full strength and weather was good. Either way Pats aren’t likely making the playoffs and there won’t be a rematch until 2025 so it doesn’t matter anymore.

Rest of the Bucs schedule other than the Bills game is cake. They get back on track tomorrow. Bucs take it 34-6

If Bucs and Pat's are both playoff teams in 2022, it's possible that they could be scheduled to play each other in 2023.

Brady has already committed to playing in the 2022 season and I think it's a toss up on whether he'll play in 2023. So a rematch is possible.

If both teams win their division next year then there will be a matchup in 2023. I say win their division because I refuse to believe the Bucs will finish worse than first in the NFC South next year.

That is true. Forgot about the NFC South crossover in 2023.

Different situations. Brees was cooked. Wilson is still good…but he’s not going to carry them anywhere. He’s better off on a team with a real defense…and also, not even sure how much having superstar WRs matter to him with his style. Seattle doesn’t seem like a good fit for him. He has flaws, but I’d be thrilled if he were NE’s quarterback. My post was more about the trade situation than just crapping on his play…my point about his play style/level is it sets up a possible breakup. Seattle should rebuild and have expressed in the past their willingness to move on; Wilson could find a great team waiting for a high level QB.
He might be the best deep ball thrower in the league or ever. It's very good to see. He can't throw anything intermediate with any kind of accuracy though. He's still a great QB though and ya I'd be very happy if we had him. I'd prefer Dak though and I know that sounds crazy.

Based on last offseason the rumblings are that Wilson really wants to play in New York. So Giants or Jets I suppose. Seahawks might be interested in Zach Wilson as part of a return.

There is a non zero possibility that next season the AFC East QB lineup is Josh Allen, Russell Wilson, Deshaun Watson (in Miami) and Mac. Yikes

Bucs rush defense is literally so good that it’s a liability because teams don’t waste downs trying to run on it and instead just pass.

Awesome bounce back performance by the Bucs and Brady today.

Antonio Brown, on a day when he becomes the fastest NFL player to 900 career receptions, has four catches for 82 yards and two TDs in the first half vs. Dolphins.
