OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

It’s going to be crazy this season.

Ronald Jones
Leonard Fournette
Giovani Bernard

Mike Evans
Chris Godwin
Antonio Brown
Scotty Miller
Tyler Johnson
Jaelon Darden?

Rob Gronkowski
Cameron Brate
O.J. Howard

I don’t know if we’ll see astronomical scoring totals from them just because the defense is probably going to be so good. I could see games where they’re draining the clock and trying to prevent injuries starting mid/late 3rd quarter.
I don't know. Arians likes to light it up. Lol

Ugh. Sorry. I just can't stand Dungy. What a hypocrite he is. He was ranking his all time QBs and I think he had Tom at 6 or something. Complete and total joker who is very bitter that Brady is universally recognized as the GOAT and not Peyton.
The NYFL greased the skids for PEDton by getting him out of the AFCE and into a division of expansion teams but, like everyone else, they didn't see TB12 coming.

Word up that Goodell & the Competition Committee Cretins in their quest for more scoring NBA style considered allowing 2 footballs in play for 2021 but nuked the plan after seeing that offensive lineup from another "wrong" team.

Bucs Bruce Arians on TE Tanner Hudson. “He needs to block somebody. Anybody.” When asked if he’s progressed he said, “He’s regressed.”

Wrong team, wrong year for that sort of thing, Mr. Hudson.

They are excellent examples of what a fan should never, ever allow himself to become.

The funniest part of it is when they argue "we shouldn't have signed Brady because we weren't good enough to win a Super Bowl in 2020" and try to play it off as the right thing to do for Brady's career.

Then turn around and claim we're Brady fans and not Patriots fans.

If we were Brady fans and not Patriots fans, we'd be thrilled the team didn't hold him back from getting ring #7.

Even though Brady’s success last year had absolutely no bearing on the Pats in the standings or anything that affects the team, unless of course it was a Super Bowl matchup, these people wanted Brady to suck sooooooo bad. And it broke their brains that he not only won it all but at the Bucs bye week Arians basically let Tom be the offensive coordinator and they never looked back.

Auman with a roster prediction:

Britt has impressed -- he'll make the 53 and looks safe to be the fourth inside linebacker. He's a tackler, should be able to help on special teams, even if he isn't playing much on defense this season.

Cool to see that people on the main forum want Mac to get #12 so Bill can spite Brady. Very normal.
It really does not surprise me. Brady winning the chip with Tampa in year one with a 7-9 team in a Covid season blew the Bill worshippers mind. The referendum on the Brady/Bill debate was always going to be settled by how Bill did without Brady. But in reality, Brady going to Tampa and having that team transform into champions just like we saw so many times here over 20 years was the real eye opener for everyone - the talking heads, most of them, did a complete 180 from the "It was Bill and the system."

And even as a huge Brady fan, I have to admit even I was not sure what it would like for Brady especially with Arians who I always thought was a bit of a clown even if he has a pretty good offensive system. But to watch Brady do his thing and have everyone on that team from the owner to the GM to Arians to ALL the players say how he transformed their mentality into champions and watch them flip the switch the second half of the Saints playoff game, confirmed for me without a doubt that the Patriot Way was completely predicated on Brady. He was the culture setter and the "believer in" player that no org in any team sport has ever seen.

And in reality, it is what Brady did in Tampa, shoving the Patriot Way up theirs and Bill's collective rear ends is what has them so PO'd. I get it. I mean their whole world of Bill and the system was completely shattered by the GOAT. I also think it is quite possible that after all the teams/QB Brady broke over 20 years, he may have broken Bill the worst. Time will tell. But Bill was most certainly broken last year when he turned into an excuse making machine and could not stop singing the praises of Cam despite how putrid he was playing week after week.

What I find so fraudulent is that prior to last season I do not recall any Patriots fans saying that this was gonna be a throw away year, a bridge year, that dealing with Covid was gonna put them at a huge disadvantage that not even Bill could overcome. In fact I seem to recall Patriots fans insisting that there is no better coach in the league at navigating the chaos of Covid, that the Pats will actually benefit from this!

But fast forward 8 weeks and the entire history of the season was revised by not only the fans but the coach as well. It was insulting.

I was super pessimistic about 2020 between losing Brady and bringing in no offensive talent to speak of.

Like I'm a huge BB fan overall, but the idea that he transcends needing real players is some cult of personality nonsense.

No one came off of the narrative actually until Bill spoke with Weiss in October and basically said he was punting on the season due to the cap and Covid. It was a stunning admission just a few weeks into the season and really rocked Pats nation in a lot of ways. Bill was not prepared in the least for Brady's departure and his poor roster management of the past several years got exposed as a result which led to all the excuses we heard all season from him and team Bill.

I think he must have cited our past Super Bowls wins at least a half dozen times. This from a guy who was always about next man up and on to Cincinnati.

As COVID-19 Impacts NFL Draft, Bill Belichick Adapts To New Technology

Multiple attempts to link another example have failed, for some reason.

From all I'm reading seems like AB is going to be a monster this season

Same as I’m reading so who are teams gonna out there CB1 on is the question. I assume it’s Evans which means they either double AB or watch him feast
