OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

If TB12 passes 5000 yards and already has 40 TDs, I think he gets league mvp. Rodgers doesn't have the volume that Brady just put up all year.

.

Down 24-10. Engineers a game winning drive in the final minute with the 5th scrub WR off the bench. Nice.

Here’s hoping next week the Bucs will have Brady throw constantly to Grayson, Johnson, and Perriman to prepare for the playoffs. Especially Grayson.

Grayson has a grand total of 12 career targets, so I’m going to pump the breaks on my optimism before crowning him an all pro. However, the guy never played in college as he was busy winning track championships at LSU. He came into the NFL in 2017 with no idea how to play wide receiver at that speed, and no one has given him a chance in a game until recently. Arians noted last year he was the Tyreek Hill preparation guy in practice and runs a 4.25 (!) That’s ridiculously fast, especially since he has some bulk. Dude doesn’t look like Hill or John Ross or one of those twigs with speed.

If he has 4.25 speed, great hands, and seems to “get it” when playing at game speed and has the timing/balance down, he does fit the profile for a real breakout player. He may end up being a huge surprise breakout player for Brady. It’s possible. I’d be much more skeptical if he were just another veteran who had a good game, but no one really knows his potential.

Found this from last week, too. This wasn’t some zone scheme or missed assignment…Grayson just burned the corner (top of screen.)

Rapoport’s tweet notes “rehab” as a source of frustration, and then the incident today. I wonder if there’s more to this.

One thing you can say of the Bucs, they sure known how to find and develop wide receiver talent. Brady sure has no chemistry issue with a practice squad player in Greyson oppose to a #1 pick in Nkeal.

OTA remember that conversation haha

Is this the point in the discussion where someone brings up Braxton Berrios? Lol…what an epic ****ing disaster that 2019 cut day turned out to be. So many decisions falling under Murphy’s Law.

Even with all this chaos the Bucs are most likely finishing the season at 13-4. One more win than the "favorite" KC Chiefs. The Chiefs never had to deal with the amount of injuries the Bucs had on any side of the ball other than Chris Jones for a couple of games. They're finishing a game behind the ultimate regular season team in Green Bay. I think they did as best they could with all those things happening. I wouldn't call them the favorites they're too injured, but with TB12 anything is possible.

Very impressive

ya he looks good looked good last week as well he needs more end around with that speed hopefully he’s used more and it’s really important that Brady already trusts him

During those four years, the Packers have finished in the top 10 points scored just once. Rodgers is essentially a scam. It’s baffling that so few people realize this, though people who look at advanced stats have frequently brought it up. He’s a good QB but has rarely been elite since 2011…he specializes in burnishing his passer rating. He won’t take needed risks at his own expense, and it shows in his lack of achievements outside of specific statistical feats. His touchdown passes always far exceed the expected number for scoring drives. The guy is a complete ****ing tool and the definition of phony, coddled superstar athlete. I’ll root for anyone over him, including Mahomes

I think he's better than what you give him credit for. He is super overrated though I do agree there. Peyton Manning was a better QB

Peyton was a much better QB. On a per play basis, all those sacks Rodgers takes add up. Manning was arguably the greatest ever at avoiding sacks. The Colts scored a lot of points; the Packers don’t. It seems that should be the main goal of the QB.

Rodgers will probably sit next week giving him less than 4000 yards and 35 td's. looks like there will be 6 qb's that throw more td's than him. good thing he once again found a way to manipulate his passer rating, interception rate, lead a slightly above-average offense, and fool voters

That was the 5th game winning drive of the season for the GOAT. That's what Mahomes (3) and Rodgers (2) have combined. But Rodgers.

I guess clutchness isn't important in an mvp.
only if it's Manning. I remember the big reasoning the voters gave for him in 2008 and 2009 (especially 2009) was his clutch game-winning drives. goalposts get moved when it's Brady though. not to mention the time missed by Gronk and AB, along with Godwin and Fournette missing 3 games

Mahomes had last year’s MVP locked up with three games left, essentially stopped trying, and Rodgers leapfrogged him with some absurd stat padding over the last few games. Unbelievable that a guy gets penalized for going 14-1 and pumping the breaks while the other guy is hammering away against ****ty teams, and the voters only look at the final numbers without context.
