OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Individual NFL player over/unders are out from
@betonline_ag, and for Bucs’ Tom Brady, they’re 4,700.5 passing yards, 37.5 touchdowns and 10.5 interceptions. Not seeing much of a dropoff at 44 …

Put Brady at RB!!!

4700 yards and 37.5 TD seems low for a 17 game season. Brady has now had a full season under his belt with essentially the same players, so his stats should be better even with being a year older.

Brady should easily be over unless there are injuries, major decline such as Brees had last year, or they run the ball alot (which is highly doubtful).

I think Brady can be under on all those stats and have a better year ala 2010.

I agree. 5k yards and easily 45-50 TDs.

This is a bittersweet thread. I'm happy to see that Brady and Gronk are doing well but it emphasizes the fact that Bill Belichick chased them both away. They should have finished their careers here.

In 1 year in the NFC a Tom Brady led team has forced Drew Brees into retirement and Aaron Rodgers turning the Packers into a mess...
He also destroyed the sense of Chiefs' near-invincibility and the inevitability of Mahomes challenging Brady for G.O.A.T. and most SB wins. And he also helped to get the pot stirred in Seattle.

It was quite the year of destruction for TB12. He messed with everyone's heads. Don't forget Bill turning into an excuse machine. That was Brady too.

Bucs haven't lost since last November 29 (Chiefs game). Decent chance they can make it an entire calendar year if they beat the Rams in week 3.

Pats might have something to say about that too if we have anything at all at the QB position.

Tampa Bay has a new offensive lineman.

The Buccaneers announced on Thursday that they’ve signed Chidi Okeke.

Okeke spent the 2019 season on the Dolphins’ practice squad but was not on a team in 2020. He entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee State. He spent also spent time with Washington and Kansas City in 2019...

Welcome back TE OJ Howard, who is practicing for the first time since rupturing his Achilles vs. Chargers last season.

Howard was just doing position work today but looks fine, comfortable. They’ll move him into 11-on-11 work before too long.

Here’s a big one: Bucs safety Jordan Whitehead is at practice and in uniform. He’s been on COVID-19 reserve since the start of training camp.

So the Bucs’ two big injury clusters of the first week — tight end and safety — are resolving themselves nicely. Still no Cam Brate but he also looks close

Bernard looks good — settling in well and will have a big role in the offense. Definitely improves the pass-catching and pass protection of the backs as a whole.

It's remarkable to realize the Bucs have Evans and Godwin as their best skill players, which stacks up with any team...and then two veterans who just happen to be the greatest TE of the 2010s and arguably the greatest WR of the 2010s, both still capable and productive when they need to be. And then a handful of other competent tight ends and WRs to fill in.

I re-watched the Super Bowl again; it stood out how fast and strong Gronkowski was in that game. I wonder if he selectively uses toradol or has some pain/injury risk management hierarchy depending on the game's importance.
