OT-ish: The gambling thread

Do any of you guys have an "I do this every week" type of bet? I'm thinking I'm going to just set aside $25 a week so $400 for the season and parlay like 8-12 to win games each week with it. Leaving out any "toss-up" type games and just bet on who "should win". If I could be right just one week out of 16 it'd be worth it.

This week gonna take the Falcons, Eagles, Vikings, Panthers, Seahawks, 49ers, Rams, and Bears. $25 to win $537. Using Bovada so they won't let me parlay in the Pats and Cowboys.

Try to do as many 2 team teasers as I can.

I wouldn't touch the current TN -1.5 on tonight's game but I jumped on the open with them getting 6.5

I got a small bet in on UGA -13.5 over Notre Dame. Unfortunately the line is now 14.5, because I wanted to bet a whole lot more. I think Notre Dame will get blown out of the building, but no way I'm taking 14.5

Ok pre-facing this with: This is not ready for primetime as it is based on the last 4 games played. So technically its not at peak until Week 5. This is based on just 2 games, obviously, just want full disclosure. There are some things to consider about the numbers such as who played the dolphins and that accounts for 50% of the data vs the normal 25%.

I plan on tracking it in here again this year hopefully I keep up with it every week. Life gets in the way sometimes. I will keep an on going record ATS and SU as the season goes on, but I won't start it until week 5.

Some of the regulars to the thread will remember it, if you have any questions about it just ask.

When & where did you see +6.5? Everything I have seen says the opening line was -1.5 at least with the online books. I may have put my whole bank on +6.5

Jags
Colts
Giants
Rams -3

$5 to win $120

Let’s gooooo

The spreads are so bad right now. I just can’t make a bet where I’m giving you 20 points

I’m considering JAX tonight, but I’m waiting and hoping that the line moves from TEN -1.5 to -2.0. If that happens, I’ll buy the extra point from the alternate spread and take JAX+3.

I’m wondering if he got a really early line from a couple of weeks ago or something? There’s often value in those lines that come out during August for future games, but I can never afford to put up money that early in advance.

There's a group of us who've known each other 40+ years who offer our bets to each other before we go elsewhere and have to pay a handle. If anyone wants the action it stays between us. Most weeks I have no bets from it, but there have been some weeks that get all of it . I got emailed opening lines that included the +6.5 and took it. I won't take advantage of a friend. After seeing your post (thank you for that) I contacted my buddy and told him he obviously messed up his spreadsheet and in friendship I'd withdraw the bet. He replied he did mess up but does expect Jax will win outright, I disagreed (actually I told him whatever was in that pipe wasn't his friend). We decided to just move it to straight up for $100

So no one wants to let us put any money on the Pats? I was just going to make some easy cash this year with 2 team to win parlays every week. The Pats to win and whoever is playing the Dolphins.
This week would be $100 to win $4.78 according to my book. Still probably a great bet.

It was -2 @ Bovada a few hours ago

Thanks, man. I’m in PA where it’s legal now, so I’m signed up with FanDuel sportsbook + Sugarhouse casinos. Hoping that one of those may push it over to -2.

I really miss the option to buy .5 or a full point, as their alternative lines cost so much. For example, I’m looking for JAX+3, and the closest they can get me right now is +3.5 (-150).

Yeah this games a no bet for me. I laid off the college game too. I think Tulane will probably win that won

I decided to take JAX straight up instead of with the points. I’m sure I’ll be complaining about this decision a few hours from now.

Side note: I think it’s a jinx to talk about.

I do a money line parlay every week of extremely heavy favorites I like. Last week I took Alabama, LSU, Okie State, Oklahoma, Penn State and the Patriots. My $150 wager brought back something like $100.

Haven't been able to post in here as much. Doing well in college, even in NFL which is what happened last year. Nothing new, came across this & have mentioned it a few times. Bet #'s not teams. So much easier & healthy tbh.

So, I just got a well deserved message asking how friendly the stuff in MY pipe feels today.
I replied it feels like a $100 worth of harsh sh!t. TN is my Jonah, it used to be Oakland

I'm in VA and they passed a bill to allow it but I don't think it kicks in until next summer. Must be nice hate dealing with the islands for betting.
