Yes sir. I used to do 6 team teasers. And I was very successful with them at first but after a few tough beats last year I realized I had to stop. Read up on some info regarding teasers and realized the best teasers you can do are the 2 team 6 pointers, or the wong teaser/basic strategy teaser. Really shouldn’t do more than 2 teams

Here’s some info if interested The Wong Teaser: How Professionals Use Teasers - Sports Gambling Podcast

A lot of books actually moved these teasers to -120 from -110... and a lot of books will do there best to avoid these key numbers. Luckily I have access to a few books that have these at -110. 5 dimes even gives you an option to take -115 with ties winning, obviously you should only do that if you don’t have a half involved

Like much of the information out there, part of me wants to read the article, buy the book, etc. Another part of me is just so cautious about taking in “too much” info, that I worry about the wrong points shaping my opinions. Is this normal? I didn’t always feel this way—so paranoid about absorbing information, but I’ve learned the hard way that there’s definitely such a thing as analysis paralysis. For example, I hate those betting forums like covers.com for this reason alone. Some people find them useful, but I like to stay away because I worry that it’s more harmful than helpful. Of course, there’s always that stat that flashes across the ticker, or the announcers bring up, where you’re like “how in the hell did I NOT know that?”

Then there are times when someone points you in a good direction with nothing more than some basic reminders. I was having a hard time getting back into baseball this year, as I simply wasn’t acclimated to all of the main players/pitchers/etc. It was a bit of a trial by fire type of thing, which I think is relatively common when you’re not betting on a daily basis for awhile. So, I reached out to @BaconGrundleCandy and he just hit on some super basic, common sense type of points and it really helped. In that instance, it was more advice than specific numbers or systems, so it panned out, nicely.

(Side note: daily baseball wagering can be a totally different animal, and often isn’t as easily palatable as football can be to the average fan.)

In terms of teasers, I’m down for 2 teamers, but that’s it. Maybe I’m just a wuss, but I’ve found that it’s hard enough to win one game, let alone two, even with substantial help. I’m assuming that your 6 teamers were pretty much just low risk/high reward moves where you didn’t put much money up, so that makes sense.

I’ve never really considered myself to be all that much of a gambler, though. I don’t get the rush or the pleasant feelings, only the additional worry. As a whole, it makes me way too anxious and weird for it to be a pleasant experience, and I don’t even risk much money, because I can’t afford to lose much money. I think it’s more of a slow, aggravating type of grind, where I hope to chip away every week, little by little.

I was putting 50 on my 6 teamers. Lifetime I’m probably up on those but that’s due to a crazy run I had on them in 2016. If you like 2 team teasers I am begging you to check out the wong teaser!

Gambling is such a grind. Definitely not for everyone. I feel for men esp bc our egos really get in the way, specifically when it comes to sports.
Most think ..."I know football, basketball etc" so it only makes sense I should do well.
Chance are that person doesn't know anything abt the sport let alone the more nuanced points that could really help you. That's one of the biggest mistakes people make. Gambling isn't abt betting on the best teams or players. Its about betting the best #'s, finding value.

I'm constantly humbled by talking to people, players/explayers & coaches. Come away feeling like I was just schooled half the time.

I used to bet on everything & still do to an extent but since football has taken over (Basketball/Hockey were first loves) & become 24/7 I no longer bet the volume on anything besides football/basketball. Just too tough working full time/6 days-OT.

Definitely not saying this in any way but maybe lay off if its giving you anxiety or anything. That's no fun. Or find a different outlet like fantasy or pools for decent $ to lower the risk overall.

Up to you, jmt57. Whatever you think makes the forum easier to maneuver. I’m good either way.

At first I was leaning towards a new thread for the new year (like the annual Jets thread).

Not so sure now, especially since we have already seamlessly morphed into the 2019 season.

I think I asked that question a few weeks ago but it didn't occur to me to call out my fellow degenerates by name to get an answer, guess that's why you get the big bucks. ;)
I am good with whatever you think is best, although since we're all sorta already here anyway...

Onward and upward to the 2019-20 ironclad sure-thing equivalent of the 'Jets will not win SB LIV' it is...

    Love the pats bet obviously...

I put a small bet on Atlanta to win the S bowl so I like those bets. Those passing yards props look solid too. That first rookie to score a td is an interesting prop

I cashed both Rivers & Cousins last year on the same prop. Both had a few stinkers like 180, 200 yards a few games as well. Rivers only missed 4300 once in the past 7-8 years I believe. I think Cook should only help Cousins as well.

Sports gambling is only a few days away from getting set up at the casino’s in the State of Iowa. Can hardly wait.

I never really bothered with much sports gambling before this other than the occasional betting on a game with a friend.

I’m really wanting to get in on over/under win total projections for the NFL season. Anyone have some picks they’re liking for these? I’m kinda big on taking the under on the Texans at 8.5.

Looks like cousins has made that number each of the last 4 years. And yes I agree cook will help. He’s definitely a threat in the passing game.

I would say BGC bet 2 of the best ones out there, if not the 2 best ones.

I guess we can Iowa to the states that are getting sports gambling before CT. This state sucks!

Same. I'm about to get started. Hoping to get a gambling podcast up and running too in like two weeks.
