OT: Andrew Luck's Level

At what? Because his body of work says it's not at NFL QB-ing.

Its my opinion. Thats one of the worst rosters in the NFL and it has been for quite some time, and he wins games with it. (In a bad division). Which I point out because its a flawed argument people use against the kid so let me knock it down before someone brings it up. Dont come prepared to an NFL game and your going to get beat, doesnt matter who it is. With that logic, The Patriots 16-0 season can be criticized because the teams were 1-15 4-12 and 7-9. But only a moron would ever make that statement

Hey we all know Tom Brady is better than Peyton Manning, But Peyton is still one of the best of all time and he threw a million interceptions too. Probably more than luck at the same stage of their careers.

Did you just have an entire argument with yourself? Because I'm just saying that his career performance has run the gamut from bad to occasionally really good, with his entire body of work being in the above average category. "Elite" is reserved for maybe five QBs in the league, and Luck isn't close to those guys yet. As another poster pointed out, people are just making excuses for why he isn't a great QB.

In what way is 40 TDs and an afc title game appearence with a bad roster, not elite

He shouldn't sign another contract that includes Grigson working for that organization.

He shouldn't have signed the last one.

See that's what's crazy, we agree on 99% of everything, especially nfl related.. But this one threw me for a loop

Pretty sure that was a joke.

When it's sandwiched by the rest of his career.

Unless you think that one really good season makes a guy "elite," in which case membership will explode, starting with Carson Palmer (who has actually had two really good seasons).

Honestly, how you're electing to define "elite" is rendering the term meaningless. But, hey, America.

Okay whats wrong with his year this year, or his year in 2013? rookie years get thrown out.

Jesus, man, there's nothing inherently "wrong" with it. He's having a nice season.

This is the problem. You equate a pretty good season with being among the best. So, I'll just recognize the folly of continuing this and wish you a lovely post-Thanksgiving.

Too much of a gunslinger for me. Makes some bonehead throws. Reminds me of rivers

I would pick Garoppelo over Luck .

Andrew Luck is a gunslinger like Favre. You could tell that from the 2nd season on, easily.

Luck is a good QB but not a great or even elite QB. I wouldn't put him in the top 10. By any reasonable stat his lifetime stats barely make him a good QB. A 58.8 passing percentage, 120 TD to 63 Int, 86.3 QB Rating are all below what is considered good. That being said, he has shown that he can do better. Being on a bad team can have an adverse effect on a talented QB. As long as the current management is in place, I don't see Luck improving much. The best move Luck could make is to hit free agency and get out of Indy.

Andrew Luck is a top 10 QB. He is not a top 5 QB. For many people, he still is living off his pre-draft hype. He probably will never be elite. He will be top third for a while.

He is Brett Favre Lite.

He is Carson Palmer, playing in a more offense-friendly league than the one Palmer joined over a decade ago.

Like a couple others (above) I would equate him with Wilson, but I would choose Luck over Wilson--ah say to replace Brady upon retirement.

I wouldn't. Wilson has demonstrated that he has the mindset to win the biggest games. Luck, to this point, has demonstrated the opposite.

Damon Huard, Luck, Rohan Davey : in that order.

A side note I think interceptions overall are down this year. Take away Ryan Fitzpick6 and it might be one of the better years for QB interceptions.
