I don't know whether the Colts are as good as their early schedule has made them look or as vulnerable as they were yesterday, since every good or great season has one or two W's that are the ugly kind as was yesterday's.

I do know that we'll know what this team is in two weeks, after they've played the resurgent Texans and hungry Pats teams.

The Colts just aren't that great.

Manning has done a very good job each week of maximising the talent of a very average WR corps - something Brady has been doing most of his career.

Their D is still the unit of undersized, swarm to be the ball types they have always been.

Physicality is that units weakness - wouldn't be surprised if they are worn down by the postseason.

The Colts struggled to put poor teams away most of last year, yes Manning was struggling early after his injury, and then they lost in the 1st round of the postseason.

Again.

The sign of a team that just isn't that great.

Good, but not great.

Well, unless we take care of business AND then some other teams beyond our span of control ALSO help us, the COLTS will have HFA in the playoffs. Pats need to defeat a quality winning team before we start dissing the performance of a team with two (2) less LOSSES than we have.

I dont know if it matters but the roof was open yesterday. You can bet your mortgage it wont be when we go there

Big test of our new secondary. Wonder if Bodden is lined up against Wayne?

Doesn't detract from the fact the only winning team they've beaten this year is the Jekyll and Hyde Cardinals.

You remember the Cardinals right?

Playoff team from last year that came here and got beat down by 40 points?

The Patriots have beaten two teams with winning records that figure to be in this years postseason.

Is it okay if we discuss the Colts now, please?

Dissing, not discussing

Pats fans' hubris is approaching JETS levels.

In this case I disagree. The Colts haven't played a remotely functional team yet, and they can't run the ball to save their lives despite drafting a second #1 RB. They had to resort to trickery to pull out a win yesterday against a team that just benched it's multi million dollar CB and swapped out failed JAG QB's.

But remember, the COLTS didn't LOSE a game to a team that you predict (and I agree) will be fortunate to finish at .500. As BB always says, he doesn't make the schedule. He can only play the teams the league assigns him.

You are what you are, to coin a phrase. We're 5-2, we're not 7-0.

The Patriots are a work in progress. Will the 2009 offense achieve the efficient consistency against quality opponents that has characterized Brady's tenure? Will the young 2009 defense mature rapidly into the kind of late season strong game winning D that has typified BB's better teams?

Well your statement was thrown out there in a general sense.

I don't think I particularly 'dissed' the Colts by saying they are a good, but not great, team.

Its the nature of the average Patriots fan to see world beaters in every opponent - we are as far removed from chest thumping JETS fans as it gets.

If anything Patriots fans go out of their wway to look for flaws in their own team.

Yep. They are ripe for the picking. I actually kind of hope that they don't lose to Houston this weekend so we can come in there and take their cute little undefeated season away from them.

If playoff HFA were not an issue, I'd agree. But it is.

Thank you. I'm glad to see someone on this forum who knows wtf their talking about.

It's not the colts fault their schedule thus far has been a relatively easy one. but like all great teams, we've been blowing these bad teams out without any problems.

The san fran game..... remember how san fran barely lost to the vikes? they're a better team then anyone gives credit. they are ranked #6 against the run and our new drafted runner, donald brown, was out that game due to a shoulder injury. so we had one RB.

lets see how people on this forum try to discredit the colts after the colts beat the texans. which we shouldnt have problems with. the texans defence is a weak one. peyton will light them up. It will be a test for our defence though as the texans are top passing right now.

quit dissing a 7-0 team when you yourselves are 5-2

Dude, the patriots are more battle tested - you can't compare records. that's nonsensical. we played denver, baltimore and Atlanta, all of which are better than any team the colts have played so far. Houston is much better than they were last year and they almost beat you last year with Sage Rosenfels. Matt Schaub is getting to be a big time QB, and on any given Sunday he could pull off an upset. SF's defense isn't great either and Manning only "lit" their defense for 18 points. We absolutely destroyed Tenneseee by 59 points and the week before you only beat them by 17.

As far as the Vikes are concerned, they can be beaten too. I'm not saying the colts aren't good, but things will change once they start playing the elite teams.

that's nonsensical. teams that are more battle tested have an edge over teams that play cupcake teams.

my point in starting this thread is that you cannot chest thump the fact that you are 7-0 when you haven't been tested yet. The giants were talking so much smack about how great they were when they were 5-0. Antonio Pierce even said the Raider game was a preseason game for them. then what happened? They got punched in the face 3 straight weeks. So the colts fans better be careful about their smack talking. They were barely beating a lot of teams last year on route to a 12-4 record and then when things got tough against SD it was clear they were overrated.

The colts can only play the teams on their schedules.

I do agree thought that the colts are not a tested team this year. With that said though They are doing what they are supposed to do. I look forward to really finding out about the team in their next 5 games.

The 49ers are a decent team and I see everyone in here talking about how the Texans should be a good game for us, well two weeks ago the 49ers lost to those texans by 3 points.

You don't understand. The Patriots have beaten the Titans AND the Buccaneers, not just the Titans as the Colts have done.

The Colts just can't compete with that.

Remember in 2007 when the naysayers were saying the 'blueprint' on how to beat the Patriots was established by the Ravens and Eagles who pressured Brady all game and still lost only by a few points?

Well you could possibly say that the 49ers exposed a 'blueprint' on how to beat the Colts.

Careful, you're agenda is showing. You're becoming like the troll's best friend because that agenda matters to you more.
