"I'm new and they are trying to get me in the system and they teach everything," Johnson said. "I meet with my position coach (Curtis Johnson) every day after practice to make sure that I am picking up everything correctly."

Learning the system also means learning the language of how the Saints will call plays in 2006 under head coach Sean Payton.

"The terminology is simple once you learn the principle behind the routes," he said. "In New England, I knew the concepts and knew what I was doing. Here, you learn the principles of the routes and it makes it easier on you."

The way the Saints teach the offensive system has been a help in Johnson's transition process.

"What I have been able to gather with the Saints is that you learn more and that they are more patient with you," he said.
More patient?

Somebody help me out with that concepts vs. principles of running a route, will ya?

Here's a gloss that makes more sense -- the issue is the terminology.

You're so right.

The story mentions the kick returns against the Colts and the long catch against the Seahawks. They were great, great plays when it mattered. But that was it! Not much to show for all that time on the roster.

Just doesn't get it....really....but good luck TO him!!

"Okay, Bethel. I'm going to paint the sideline blue, the hashmark green, five yards down, red, and the goal line orange. Now I'm going to paint this shoelace blue, this shoelace green, this shoelace red, and this shoelace orange..."

I have two words for Bethel: Short Bus

Bethel can run like the wind.

He can also feel it go through one ear and out the other.

Ha!! Wasn't there a story that surfaced after Bethel was drafted that BB did not like his work ethic and had to be "talked into" drafting him for his speed??

I don't think it's a lack of brain power, I think it's a lack of motivation! He is lazy, plain and simple! BB benched him for several games because he did not like Bethel's attitude during practice and wasn't happy with his preparation! He also seemed to baby injuries while others "nutted" up and played through the pain!

Can't rule out he's lazy and stoopit.

Yes, but it's like the whistles on Stuka dive bombers, another way to terrorize the opposition.
