He could be an offensive assistant. This is going to be a bigger staff, so there's room for Hoyer if they want him. That said, from this chat, it sounds like Hoyer might want a media job.
Hoyer has said in the past that he doesn’t want to go into coaching because of the hours involved.

QB FA's sorted by age...

Assuming that his development is real, no one on this list jumps out as a slam dunk to beat out the Milton we saw against the Bills. With a high ceiling backup in house I want the team to choose the vet for their leadership and mentoring capability. No one will have experience in the system that JMD will run this year because it will be new to exploit the skills that Maye brings to the table. The fact that Milton has some of the same skills would allow the team to run the similar system if Maye is injured.

I think they should try to bring in Stidham (like @RobertWeathers said) for QB3 or tell him to duke it out with Milton for QB2. Highly doubt he is going to beat out Milton but he does know the EP system.

Stidham for sure is a good cheap pickup.

There's Brissett (if they convince him next season won't be another ****show) and Stidham (if Denver cuts him).
I wouldn't mind Stidham. Brissett is one I didn't consider. Good call out.

I can see the logic in going with Stidham. He just seems like the $1m arm with a 10 cent head, in that he does not seem to love football the way I would hope a mentor would. It might not really matter because both Maye and Milton seem to be very mature for their ages.

Ya know you have a good point. He doesn't seem like he cares a whole lot. Maybe he's not a good fit...IDK

I’d be fine with Maye and Milton as QBs 1 & 2. My ideal would be draft a late round QB project, and re-sign Brisket. That gives you camp arms. At the end of camp I’d like to see Brissett cut, retire, and signed as a QB assistant coach. I don’t know what it would take for him to un retire if things went south but I think he’d be a good resource, worth having around without using a roster slot. Hoyer would be another possibility but he has said he’s not interested in coaching.

I agree that the team should take a flyer on a QB most years for depth at training camp and in the hope of catching lighting in a bottle. With M&M there is no concern about the near term future so this may be the year of an undrafted player. No matter which path they take you only have to cut Brissett if the project looks good enough that teams would poach him, otherwise stash him on the PS.

Sign Godwin at WR on a 1 year deal because of the injury. Before the ankle injury Godwin was having a career year with Mayfield. Godwin played 3 years with Brady so he knows McDaniel's system. If the ankle heals, Godwin knows the playbook on Day 1.
