Somebody help me out with that concepts vs. principles of running a route, will ya?
More patient?"I'm new and they are trying to get me in the system and they teach everything," Johnson said. "I meet with my position coach (Curtis Johnson) every day after practice to make sure that I am picking up everything correctly."
Learning the system also means learning the language of how the Saints will call plays in 2006 under head coach Sean Payton.
"The terminology is simple once you learn the principle behind the routes," he said. "In New England, I knew the concepts and knew what I was doing. Here, you learn the principles of the routes and it makes it easier on you."
The way the Saints teach the offensive system has been a help in Johnson's transition process.
"What I have been able to gather with the Saints is that you learn more and that they are more patient with you," he said.
