We became to 1 dimensional, which allowed the Raiders to start teeing off on Maye, and he couldn’t handle the blitz.

Run the damn ball, and don’t have the 23 yr old throwing 46 passes. Maye was pressing, and looks like he wasn’t comfortable in the system. They gotta figure it out. Stevenson looks cooked, I’d rather go with TH and AG getting more carries. They also need to take some shots and make the D pay if they crowd the line or blitz.

No @Triumph was telling us Hollins beat out Boutte and was a stud who will be great.
21 routes run 3 yards.
Which is more that your binkies Polk and Baker.

It’s the world we live in now I guess. Everything has to be immediate, including making determinations of a player after 1 game in a new system. And not just determinations of how good he can eventually be, but questions about his work ethic, fire, intellect and mental strength. I guess after losses I should just stay off the post game threads.
It's been like this for years. As a fan, I've had enough of this garbage. (speaking for myself here, no one else)

Laid an egg in the 2nd half. But there was some positive developments to take away. So I have no doubt they’ll beat Miami this week. The Dolphins seem completely lost.

Is LaGaffe getting paid by the post or something? I've never seen someone so consistently dog a player based on one game.

Actually it isn’t because they weren’t holding the offense back by being in the field, but again, keep trying to say the biggest Polk hater on the board is a Polk fan, you clown yourself every time you do.

Polk last year had .35 yards per route run. Hollins at .14 managed to be worse than the worst WR ever. Keep telling me how awesome he is.

I hate to say it, but Mac was able to run JMD's offense as a rookie. He lacked "tools", but operated the offense with better reading of D and hitting open guys... it was the next 2 years of BB head games that screwed him.

Drake is in his 1st year of this offense, but has NFL experience now, and should have some basics down.
Let's hope the head games of last year and this transition is happening in reverse, and he'll figure it out this year.

If you said the exact opposite of everything you wrote here, you'd be 100% correct.

He had a very good first half. 14/20/150 and a TD. His top 2 targets caught 6 passes at an average of 18 yards down field.
About the same as his very good camp?

They should end the games at halftime.
It’s not Mayes fault that McDaniels decided to give Stevenson and Henderson a combined ZERO carries in the second half to hamstring Maye and make his job harder.
We were just discussing the Maye Minions dreaming up excuses for him.

Well done. Youre the first to go there.
Tell me again how Hollins beat out Boutte.
Tell us how Maye was ready to roll after his solid camp and preseason.

Youre anti Polk but wanted him on the roster for 2026 and 2027.

I have already exposed that you wanted Polk.

The play calling was fine today. Maye killed drive because of his inaccuracy. Maye is the biggest reason we lost this game.

The play-calling was better than Maye was, but it wasn't that fine overall.

While I'm surprised how quickly many have turned on Maye, there are some that aren't seeing the disturbing trend with Maye and want to point the finger at something else.

It is the nature of every NFL teams' fans message board. Some are quick to turn on players who under perform. Others will defend the players they like or love no matter what. Many of us have fallen in both categories at times over the years.

Yes, right now Maye needs to get better and he does have significant issues he needs to fix and some of those have always been there. But it is too early to give up on the guy. He could fix most or all of those issues and become a good or even great QB. Or he could eventually bust out and become a career back up.

Didn’t Bill Parcells once tell the Pats they accepted losing more easily than they should?

That was pre-Brady.

Jimmy G once said that he beat Brady in some competition and Brady wouldn’t talk to him for a week.

Teammates always spoke about how Larry Bird hated losing. I think it was here that a poster mentioned he got to play against Bird in some sort of public event, and he actually made a couple of good plays against Bird and Bird responded with some sort of in your face play,

Against a kid.

We know TFB hated losing.

The great ones hate losing.

Does Drake Maye hate losing?

Being a pessimist is appealing to many because you can have a parade for yourself when you’re right while knowing no one will care when you were wrong since what other people wanted to happen did happen.

The cost however is that people catch on quickly to the act and don’t care to listen to whatever insight you actually have to offer.

That said, there is a difference between being a pessimist and a critic. A critic can make caustic comments, but demonstrates fairness and intellectual honesty when doing so.
Sounds like some posters here when it comes to evaluating Pats draft picks.

This is you.
Make a crazy ass claim, saying I said something I never did. In this case I wanted Polk to make the team.
Then I tell you to prove it.

You post something that doesn’t stay that at all, but has Polks name in it.
I call you as full of ****.

You disappear for 4 days then repeat the lie.

You also at a coward. You told me Hollins beat out Boutte. Of course, as always you were wrong. I offered a bet, with the stakes being quit the board, so that we could rid this place of you, and despite all of your bluster, you hid from the challenge you are quite simply a loser.

I want to see who the scorekeepers have with how many yards he gave up, but he seemed okay until the Raiders last drive he gave up that bomb. Alex Austin was giving up most of the big plays. I warned posters the day Davis signed he was going to piss you off on Sundays.
I would normally say with Gonzo out Davis was thrust into a role as the #1 corner when he signed here to be the #2. In this case though he was getting torched by nobodies.

The vibe I got coming off Vrabel's post-game press conference was that this team is not ready for NFL football.

Think of this season as an extended pre-season.

That's the best way I've found to make it make sense.

Vrabel did play for Belichick. That is the way Belichick approached it. Even with Brady, this team could go 2-2 in September or even occasionally 1-3. Look at the Patriots' Super Bowl years (I have to exclude 2001 and 2014 because Brady didn't play the start of the season in either of those years). In 2003 and 2018, the Pats started 2-2. In 2017, when they lost in the Super Bowl they started the season 2-2.

Belichick always treated September as a continuation of the preseason and trying to determine what this team would be and become as the season went along.

The biggest difference is that it seems like McDaniels threw too much out there early. Usually, the Patriots under Belichick dials back the playbook early and then expands it as the season goes along.

I have said that I don't care that much about the record this year, that I will be happy this year to see evidence of progress each week. I though that was a pretty low bar that would hold me safe from too much frustration. Apparently I was wrong. Aside from a confirmation that the o-line is better this year than last (talk about a low bar), I didn't see clear improvement anywhere. I'm not bailing on either the team or on any individual player, but that mess was really disappointing. The most discouraging thing may have been the checked-out sloppiness too many players showed. Where's that kickass culture we were supposed to see? I half expected to see Mayo standing on the sideline, staring off into space.

Trubisky, but with cement overshoes. Seriously, why was he so slow?

He's suffering from paralysis by over-analysis now. Dude doesn't know WTF he's doing out there, even just running's a chore for him...
