Yeah because he missed 4 games and Herbert already proved himself as a top 10 QB.
Do the math and extrapolate. He was on pace for less TDs and more INTs, less yards and a worse completion %. Clearly a guy who doesn’t care.

I got to say after week 1, the decision of letting Peppers go and benching Dugger isn't looking good.

The whole logic is flawed, it's like we're trying to dink and dink and 3 yard run our way down the field like the good old days, we should have guys who have a home run threat like Henderson in the game and getting Drake out of the pocket and making big plays down the field.

Trying to recreate the Brady offense just isn't going to work, Maye looks like his head is spinning during the game he either didn't know what he was seeing seeing or what he's supposed to be doing.

I think it's information overload with McDaniels.
FWIW I think we’re trying to create an offense similar to the Bills. Maye just isn’t Josh Allen, obviously.

Get used to it. It's what he does.
Yep and I hated during the dynasty years. Too many times we saw the running backs walking on eggshells. If they didn't get a good gain on one carry, Josh would abandon it and go 4-5 wide on the next play.

Then he'd lineup in goal line formation in the middle of the field and if the RB didn't convert, he'd be done for the day.

My thoughts from watching week #1:

- Rome was not built in a day nor was the Patriots rebuild done in a single season (more talent is needed)
- I miss Bill's adjustments during halftime
- Some series the defensive front looked great and some looked like last year...consistency is needed
- Without Gonzo the secondary is mid at best
- Carlton Davis should be charged with fraud if he cashed his paycheck
- Anyone see Dugger
- Why does Drake struggle with the easy passes?
- Please show Drake some Brady tape on how to throw the ball away. If you get out of the pocket you should get some slight gain or throw it away, not lose yardage
-Players who stood out in a good way - Henry, Landry and Boutte

Looking forward I think this team will get better. I dont think there was enough practice to bring all that needed to brought together to have a good game (back in the oven, needs to cook more). Things will get fixed and things will become more smooth. I am not ready to scream the sky is falling just yet. We all know how the Pats started last year and how it went from there, I'm not making any bets off of one game. I think by week four/five we will see exactly who they will be this year and it is what it is. I dont see them making the playoffs as it stands but I do think they will be on the right side of .500.

I think my favorite thing is how the Pats were favored in 11 games, plenty of people were predicting 8,9,10+ wins.... then the second they get embarrassed at home at start 0-1 the narrative flips to "everyone knew this was a 6 win team" and "we all knew this was a multi year process". Disingenuous doesn't begin to do it justice.

I want to see who the scorekeepers have with how many yards he gave up, but he seemed okay until the Raiders last drive he gave up that bomb. Alex Austin was giving up most of the big plays. I warned posters the day Davis signed he was going to piss you off on Sundays.

Ring6 backs Maye like he did Larry Matoney.
While I'm surprised how quickly many have turned on Maye, there are some that aren't seeing the disturbing trend with Maye and want to point the finger at something else.

It's worth noting that the raiders are absolutely dog ****. And get outside of three or four drive somewhere at the end of the first quarter into the second The raiders absolutely dominate the Patriots yesterday.
They scored two TDs. In what world is that dominating?

Besides the first drive where they gave up the TD I thought looked okay the first half. Second half they looked bad. Lots of work to do and I didn't think Maye looked very good either

Dude threw the football 46 times and didn't even crack 300yds.

So why did Maye and the offense not play in the Giants preseason game again? They need the work especially the QB.
Why don't starters play a full 3 quarters in the 3rd game? They don't get enough reps in live action during the preseason.

The same thing occured with Bledsoe.

The first sign of trouble to come was trading Milton because he wanted Mayes job.

The nice thing about being a pessimist is that you're rarely disappointed.

There's a lot to be said for waiting for the first four games to form an opinion about the team's prospects.

If not that, wait at least one game so you see what the product on the field looks like in a real game.

Anyone also see that Maye doesn't have any urgency in his game? Like if he gets punched in the mouth, he'll just take it and won't respond. We saw this all last year. Once a team gets a lead, he just accepts it and takes the loss.
