Can someone sh!t can the "Is anyone still worried about the Bills" thread? It started bragging about Bills handing us the division. It didn't end well.
Sloppy loss to a crap team. Really bad officiating.
But the Pats still exceeded expectations this year, IMO. I just didn't have them making the playoffs. But, once they're in the postseason, anything can happen.
Problem is that the expectations will be much higher next season, so let's enjoy what we have now.
That play where we challenged the spot it looked like Bourne made the first down. The ref said they would move it forward six inches. He picked it up and put it right back in the same spot! That ball was advanced much further on the replay.
The Patriots didn't deserve to win, but they deserved fair officiating, and if the officiating was fairly enforced, they probably win. Beyond that, I don't have much.
Getting an opportunity in the postseason is all we can ask for. Let's see if the team can rally for four straight.
The Patriots calling card has always been that they don't beat themselves, don't give up cheap penalties and are elite on special teams. That's totally flipped this year. There has been a worrying amount of mental errors this season, unnecessary penalties at crucial times and flat out poor play from all involved on special teams, except maybe Nick Folk. Jake Bailey has regressed to a degree that's almost inexplicable.
In an annoying sort of way, that was sort of funny. Reminds me of 2018 -- another depressing but hilarious ending. Let's hope for some similarities in the playoffs. Speaking of, I saw we're slated for Cincinnati. Is that set in stone, or pending the night game results?
I see that the refs bailed out Flores for one of the dumbest gambles in a league full of dumb gamblers. How do you call unnecessary roughness when the defender doesn't make contact?
I still like Stevenson more than I like Harris but they're both good.
I also still think that Bolden is under appreciated by many fans here.
Honestly, I have a hard time seeing this team win it all this year. Always gonna root, but just hard to imagine. Too many holes. I’d rather lose in the first round, then in the AFC championship game, or worse the super bowl. Screw runner up trophies. With that being said, I hope we win next week, cause fu*k the Bills, but if we don’t I’ll still be more then pleased with the season and the outlook on the future moving forward. Drafting 20th-23rd wouldn’t be the worse thing. Jordan Davis the Macs pal Metchie please. We need to be able to stop the run!!! One more solid draft could really help this team.
The question is are we even that team anymore? What we have shown for most of two years is mistakes. People are hoping for a return to what we were 3 years ago. That may not be there
So what happened during the bye? The only team the Pats beat since then is the pathetic Jags. Against legit competition they've sucked on ice and only made the games sort of close when the teams that are beating them back off in the 3rd and 4th quarter. They will exit quickly from the post season this year until they figure out what apparently what the rest of the league has figured out about them.

All I know is there been like 5 games the defense has a chance to give the ball to the offense to try and win it and each time they gave up a big play.
Not saying we would've won all of those games. But a good defense makes those plays. Doesn't give up a 20 yard run to the QB or a 4th and 20. Or a 4th down last week. Or a run for a TD against the colts...
Dallas up 20 - 14 with + 12 Time of possession
New Orleans up 21 - 3 with + 5 TOP
Buffalo up 20 - 7 with + 5 TOP
Indianapolis up 20 - 0 with even TOP
Miami up 24 - 10 with + 7 TOP

Overall, I had them at 9 wins going in to the season and maybe a WC spot, instead we got 10 wins and went into the last game with 97% odds of a WC spot, so a bit better than I had hoped.
The problems I'm seeing is we're used to sweeping our division and now we just split our division, and even that wasn't easy with the weather game at BUF. That's a swing of three games in the playoff standings, something that makes a huge difference.
I'm also seeing way too many penalties and turnovers. Hopefully all that improves as coaches have more time to drill it into players heads and replace those who just can't/don't get it.
I think Mac can/will get better, but also worry that we saw a bad INT and a lot of tipped balls in yesterday's game.
The team really needs a huge mental reset before going to BUF.
Random fun fact: The Patriots allowed the fewest yards to tight ends this season (440), compared to a league average of 859 and second-best (SF and CHI tie) of 582. That's the fewest yards a team has allowed to tight ends since 2016, even with an extra game.
They were holding Barmore any time he was single-teamed. I saw it several times. It’s hard to make a clutch play when you are being dragged to the turf.
