I watched it 10 times and I still can't tell how Barmore got injured...
Barmore was already of his knees before JoeJu hit him. Barmore's leg wasn't caught under him or anything. I could understand a chest injury, but no clue how he hurt his leg.
I don't care if this is unpopular when Patricia was our DC he always had them playing soft even with an embarrassment of riches. There were always pass catchers that had CB's playing 5 yards off them to prevent a breakaway instead of just trying to stop the completion to begin with. There were way too many games with our level of talent where we still got into last minute nailbiters that would have been prevented if our defense played to expectations.
Flores came in and was an immediate improvement and was far more aggressive a play caller and they just didn't have all that soft ****y ********. Belichick took the reigns and was even more aggressive and they looked like one of the best defenses ever for a spell. Steve and Mayo were fine last year as well with less talent.
Now the slob is back around and is overseeing things from his ivory tower and we are dealing with the same old **** as before only we don't have a stacked offense to bail them out and compensate like in the past. Patricia is a hack, there's a reason everyone after him got the defense playing tigher and better and there's a reason he was a total disaster in Detroit. Kick him to the curb this season. We have way too many hallmarks of his defense which in hindsight was never really that impressive.
I have no idea what he does or adds. I suspect he took over Ernie’s duties and isn’t doing as well. But it’s Bill creating the overall defensive strategy, not Patricia.
It depends. They were physical against the Bills in their first match up. They were super soft and basically played prevent defense all game in the second game. But I think the Pats can run on both teams pretty well and neither are great running teams. Cincy is below average and if you take away Allen's scrambles, so are the Bills.
The most painfull loss i have seen in 20+ years. Mistakes from professionals i have never seen from a Bill Belichick coached team. No Fight, No smarts, No love of the game. They are going backwards as i watch.
So this is a more painful loss than both SB losses to NYG and Philly? A game in which no matter the outcome we were locked into a road playoff game next week anyways?
You misunderstood my statement. I was saying the loss from TODAY, I could name games from this season that hurt more. 2007 is not needed to make that point.
There is no way to spin this as good news, but it may at least force the Pats to not run a four man rush with a soft zone in the playoffs. They are going to have to manufacture a pass rush without Barmore.
One positive is Judon looked far more disruptive today than in the last few weeks where he had fallen off quite a bit.
Very winnable game but this team is a work in progress, I’m glad they made it to the playoffs and even happier we got our QB of the future and he played all season, no wasting time.
Now, they need to unleash Mac earlier in the games not when we are down 2 scores, this was the Colts game all over again. Go pass heavy, the running game sometimes gets to predictable.

They were soft against indy and tonight. Bottom line is if they dont get points in the first half and are down they will likely lose. The defense supplied alot of points and short fields also in their wins.

You don’t go from down 17 in the 4th quarter to down 3 by having no fight. They have a lot of issues, but showing fight when they’re down isn’t one of them.
