All football games are decided by a handful of plays.

The Miami offense seemed to be ready to play with a new head coach and a lot of off-season drama. Why weren't the Pats?

Miami's offense did not look good. What is your point?

So? Again what is your point? Now Miami's piss poor looking offense, which looked better than the Pats, was somehow ready to play or coached well? You are making sh!t up and trying too hard to be insightful.

Prove me wrong. 20-7.

The Mac strip sack TD was a great call. Great play that the Pats were not ready for. The 4th and 7 call was a great play the D wasn't ready to defend either.

I do not think Miami looked significantly more ready to play than New England. It wasn't like two different teams on the field (from my perspective). I actually think, on the balance, New England looked like the more talented and well-rounded team for stretches of the game. Unfortunately they turned the ball over 3 times, one of which directly led to 7 points.

Again, not saying it was good ... I just don't agree with the assessment that the two teams were on different levels yesterday. Both appeared a bit sloppy (to be expected in week 1, especially with an abbreviated preseason) but similarly matched.

Let's see how week 2 goes, and some more time beyond that.

Certainly didn't look any better than New England's. Miami didn't turn the ball over (which involved a lot of luck, given some of those bounces of the ball) and they popped the TD before the half.

In terms of eye-test and moving the ball, I thought the Pats offense was comparable or better at times - seem to have the upper-hand running the ball compared to Miami's offense. Unfortunately they turned the ball over and couldn't put points on the board.

And if my grandmother had balls....

I actually bother sharing my opinion of the game, based on what I observed, and that's all you got ... nice.

I don't care if you saw the game differently, that's fine - that's actually a good thing; it'd be boring if we all saw the game the same way. Just a shame you're uncomfortable with others holding a different opinion than your own when it comes to a game of football, apparently.

BB thinks he is smarter than anyone these days, he doesn’t have Brady to bail him out.

It was piss poor planning. Matt Patricia and Judge aren’t going to replace McDaniels.

I wasn’t fond of Mac being used to block defenders on run plays either. Sure he is young, but when you run enough of those plays you will end up injured.

I am slowly losing faith in BB and I think it’s time we look for a proper GM. BB should no longer handle this position. I also think we should look for a new HC eventually, not his son.

How you going to sit Bourne all game long and then use him late?
BB has the resume and a long history with NE, but at some point we need to look for a new direction if we wish to keep up with the likes of Buffalo.

Miami was no better today, we could have beat them, but we were below average. Sure the refs missed that PI at the beginning of the game, but if blame the refs for us losing that game because of that PI then we are really need to look at our selves.

It’s week one, I hope we show better preparation in week two. Coaching staff needs to be way better because Pittsburgh is going to be a handful.

Calmer than you are.

What makes you think PIT is going to be a handful? Their defense will require the offense to be sharp, but I wasn't overly impressed based on week 1. Pittsburgh won the turnover battle 5-0, and still only managed to win by 3 points at the tail-end of overtime. Their best defensive player is done for the season. Mitch Trubisky is their QB.

No game in the NFL is easy but I certainly feel much better about the matchup with Pittsburgh than I did Miami for many reasons. Weather and scheme being chief of them all.

Because Pitt put up a decent game against a team that was in the SB just last year. The kickers stunk the game up and the turnovers by the bengals didn’t help but Pitt is a dog of a team and it’s gonna take a way better effort compared to what we came up with today in order to beat them.

? Pittsburgh went on the road and beat the AFC champs. We can’t take any team lightly, we just put up 7 pts.

Pittsburgh beat the reigning AFC champions. The Patriots lost to a team that was not a playoff team last year, had a head coach making his NFL debut, and was (like the Patriots) dealing with a questionable OL that's learning how to block in the system. So thinking the Steelers will be a handful is a perfectly sensible take, under the circumstances.

As for injury, there's no question that the Watt in injury is likely to be impactful. But before people put that up as some reason the Patriots should beat the Steelers, how about we find out if Jones' back will allow him to play?

We looked like CRAP on offense, Mac is responsible for that, he is the leader, I don't want to hear anything else.
BTW, I thought he looked HORRIBLE.
I never thought we'd get him, and end up with Mills... how'd he make out?

Mac will be fine if he's healthy. The concern for me is the play calling

please take into consideration our offensive line...Brady would have looked like crap behind this abomination we're putting out there. Mac is ALREADY hurt...Hoyer is NOT even a Division 3 college QB. All he is, is a placeholder. EVERY competent defense in this league will shut him down and shut him out. If we even see Zappe for a series you can look forward to the draft and next season.

I'm not sure what game Andrews and Bill were watching if they think we were moving the ball well and just couldn't finish drives. We had one trip into the red zone and just 270 yards of offense. That is not moving the ball well. This sort of thing happens when a coach is starting to feel the pressure, 5 years ago Bill would have told us that wasn't good enough but he can't be honest now.
