One of the best decisions Vrabel made this year was to not give up on Stevenson over his fumbling. Maybe because he had no choice. Stevenson being out a few weeks also helped. He looks fresh, less wear and tear.
Stevenson has looked different to me, more agile and elusive. Maybe Josh is using him differently, getting him out into space more. He is definitely getting more catches and running deeper routes to get them. I’ve wondered if he’s picked up some ideas from watching Hendo. Maybe they watch film together?

SVP chatting with Maye. Dunno if it has been posted yet. He brought up he think Maye is a lot like Scottie Scheffler, and per usual Maye deflects. It's an amazing trait to have.

Cover guys can be helped/hurt drastically by their pass rush.
Gonzo is great. Everyone puts Surtain at the top of the mountain.
NE has 30 sacks
Denver has 63, more than double!!
Surtain is greatly helped by a front 7 that gets immediate pressure.
Gonzo does not have that same luxury
Don't forget about Stingley Jr.. take away will Anderson and or Hunter and he won't be aided like he does now..

it was clearly something they saw; the window to hit the pass was there, mapu just didn't pull the trigger

jules would have thrown it
The window for Mapu to hit that pass was NOT there, he doesn’t have the arm for it even if Jules might.

Despite the state of these teams, credit must be given to the Pats for winning on the road in these places:
MIA, BUF, TAM, CIN, BAL

These were all games I was assuming we'd lose before the season started. Quite impressive.
Carolina too, they’re now leading their division.

They were part of our weak schedule too.

I think they might go for 2 off-ball LBs in FA (Devin Lloyd I've seen thrown around a lot), and also draft a guy. Linebacker is in a very sorry state.

I think they throw a bag a Tyler Linderbaum, and rightfully so, that guy's an animal.
That would be great.

4 What happened to our elite run D. Even when we had Tonga in it wasn't elite or close to it. They will need to force teams to be 1 dimensional come playoff time a bit more. This is part health but also just being disciplined.
Spillane, Landry, Tonga, Williams all got hurt. Hard to be disciplined when you’re overmatched and desperate to make the plays.

Let's not forget that Rham had 69 receptions in one season for New England back in 2022.

He has always been a very good pass catching back.

If anything, Treveyon has a lot to learn from Rham.

I thought there was a very brief window if he threw it right away. But its Mapu, not a former college/hs QB. It was simply a braindead coaching decision.
You know who really blew that play?

Westover.

He needed to delay his release a second longer.

Statistically it was elite.

Visually I was always at the edge of my seat because Chiasson and Landry could not set the edge, were often washed out, and it looked to me like they were directing run outside by jumping inside, while the Patriots DBs -- all of them -- were filling in down the line and making bonecrunching tackles. Even Marcus Jones was flying in and throwing his body around. I was waiting for one of them to be injured.

You can't sustain this run D when you're gambling like this so often.

Hey, don't put that on us cranky old guys. It's the newbie entitled crowd. Old guys have lived through more up and downs and take nothing for granted.
Exactly, its the excitable youngsters who get easily upset and start flinging poo at the slightest setback that make it ****ty for everyone.

Protocol is Protocol it's all on that
Right I get that but I don't want them to "play it safe" and start sitting players for the sake of extra rest when there's a lot to play for week 18. You beat Miami you might be skipping the wildcard. It's basically a playoff game

Yes twin.. hendo will probably be in protocol.. keep him out until playoffs....
He and Boutte both. I didn’t like the way Boutte’s arms spanned when he hit his head, that’s why he lost the ball. It’s a bad neurological sign.

If he can play week 18 he needs to, we have a real shot at the 1 seed if we win the next 2
I’m afraid there’s a good chance he will still be in protocol. His hit looked pretty bad too.
