Absolutely.. thought it was pretty comical that Williams was being propped up over him.. I'm not impressed with Caleb Williams.. JMO..
2 more years, when he gets that accuracy up to 65% and has 3 full seasons in the offense, he's going to be a top-10, maybe top-5 guy.

You're seeing Lawrence finally take a leap this year, now that he has a half-decent coach and 2 starting-caliber linemen. This is his 4th coach and offensive system in 6 years in the league. One of those years was Urban Meyer.

Sam Darnold's what, 28? Finally got behind a couple of offensive linemen and had a pro offense to run, and look at him now.

Jared Goff, when McVay came in as coach, instead of ****ing Jeff Fisher.

There's a reason these guys all went in the top-5. Just like there's a reason Maye went in the top-5.
There's also a reason the Jets, Titans and Browns have all picked in the top-5 for the last decade.

Organizations matter, coaching matters, personnel matters, systems matter.

Look at the leap Drake Maye took this year, compared to last year, running a high-school offense with zero NFL linemen in front of him, and a Clownshow coaching staff.

People are so quick to call players busts if they aren't all-pros in their rookie years. It's never been that way.

Brought back PAINFUL memories of the failed fake punt vs the Jete and what followed.
Don't do that to an old man fan Vrable!
Maybe seeing what would happen and if it could be used later. But I don't want non QBs rolling out throwing to covered guys.

I thought that receiver was covered by 2 guys.

The worst thing that can happen there is not Mapu getting tackled behind the line to gain.

The worst is Mapu throwing the ball for a pick 6.
I'm glad he didn't throw it.
A QB could have made the throw, but not Mapu.

He should have pitched it to Baringer. Watch how deep he is trailing that play, I'm convinced seeing it again, that his job was to trail and punt.

Great stuff Tommy spot on here.
Drake has been the most impressive to me because he's had to overcome coaching and the 32nd ranked OL his rookie season.. beating out JACOBY BRISSETT in camp and Wolf not giving him the starting job..

Drake has none of the names on offense Williams has and he elevates his guys around him.. you absolutely correct on a guy like Darnold who put up what almost 500 yards passing last week?

270

I had hopes for Marty.. I'd be surprised if we see much of him the rest of the way here...
Are we forgetting that Mapu used to return punts and even kickoffs? I think he's capable of running for a 1st on a punt fake, if the play is designed properly.

Williams and Daniels will never be great. Maye just has to learn to take the short pass for a 1st down when needed.
Or a first down pass for 5 yards. That's what happened on THE DRIVE last night.

That's pretty good play design, never saw something like that, but I'm not sure they had designed it like that.

Kind of a fleaflick-punt. I'll call it the fleaflunter.

True. Just wasn't properly executed. Even surprised that Springer would call that call given the down and distance there. I could see 4th & 2.. or something

I'll need to see Williams for another year with the same coach - I think he's got a chance to be great.

Jayden Daniels is already 25 and had multiple severe injuries. That clock's ticking, if he's in the league 5 more years as a starter I'll be surprised.

I have to be nice to you so you stay around. Without you the number of posts on this site would shrink in half

Wow! Best Patriots win over the past several years. I was on a flight last night and wasn’t able to watch so I watched the replay this morning. What a great win in a tough environment under tough circumstances. This Pats team is learning each week. Maye is developing into an elite NFL QB before our very eyes. Stop and think that this KID just turned 23. It’s insane how good and poised he already is. I don’t know how this season will end, but I’m thrilled with this team, their Coach, and their QB. Great win. Let’s get a couple more to close out the season and be peaking going into the playoffs.

Because this season is drunk the only seed we mathematically can't get is the #4 seed.
