Gonzo was blamed for Flowers catches though when he had outside zone coverage and Flowers crossed over from the clear other side of the field. That catch was not on boundary defenders. Made no sense to blame Gonzo for Flowers's biggest play.

But if you look at the official stats, Gonzo only gave up a 14 yarder and an 8 yarder to Flowers, total of 22 yds. I pointed this out last night in the game thread and people were in disbelief. I think it had to do with Gonzo being in the area where Flowers was tackled and Flowers being wide open. But it was clear to me it couldn't have been Gonzo.
You could be right there Up.. it's hard to tell sometimes because we play so much off coverages I believe it's primarily becuase of Jackson and his threat to run so I had no issues with the way they played coverages for this match up.. as far as a 1-1 match up i felt like Marcus could match flowers speed, quick twich, and change of direction better as they are both essentially the same size.

When gonzo shows his emotions on the field it seems to heighten his aggression.. like that 2nd down play on Bateman.

But but...that hair.

"He sucks! Trade him for a 2nd rounder! He got BURNED~!"

By the way on that play, not just the Williams block - Wilson, from LEFT guard, pulled all the way around to the right side and blocked two guys. Now you all see why he got the starting job.
I found myself wondering yesterday whether Wilson could become our Tyler Linderbaum.

Mack Hollins has bailed out Drake a number of times with athletic, leaping grabs on balls that have sailed a little high over the middle and possibly could have been intercepted.

He never alligator arms those and fully extends opening himself up to violent shots. Not a lot of wr’s put themselves in those positions, let alone make those catches.

A lot of Tall WR's coming out we need one to be even better than Barefoot Mack Hollins no disrespect. I wish Barefoot was a little younger he's been awesome.
Hard not to love Hollins, a real character who throws himself into it. The Pats don't want him with twice as many targets as anyone else like last week in Buffalo, but he's a terrific complementary piece. Love this team.

Anything. And ask as many questions as you like.
So many great things to take from the game.. was I came away with was that it's emphatic that Vrabel makes all the difference his coaching and JMD prowess with Drake has elevated this team.

So many guys playing through injuries, guys going down in game.. Drake and Diggs seem to perform thier best on national games.. I don't know what more the kid needs to prove to silence the "yeah but crowd "

Man, you're really dying on that hill, even after another 7 catches for 69 yards, 5 for first downs last night, huh?

Maye is a great kid. I would ignore the "yeah but crowd". There will always be cranky old guys that complain.

Funny thing is how the defender very non-chalantly swatted it away, like he wasn’t really trying to go for the ball even though it was a prime chance for an INT off the ricochet. He was smiling as he did it, with an expression that said “****, I am getting flagged bad on this one”. He didn’t even attempt to grab the ball because he KNEW even if he did, the penalty would wipe it away anyway. But somehow, there was no flag.
I was waiting for the 15 seconds later PI flag like last week but then I remembered, "Ah! No flag coming. It would benefit the wrong team"
I HATE the NFL's embrace of the multi billion dollar gambling "industry".

I still do not understand what Vrabel was thinking on the fake punt . This is why I have thought over the season that he is overly aggressive when it isn't needed
Brought back PAINFUL memories of the failed fake punt vs the Jete and what followed.
Don't do that to an old man fan Vrable!

Let's give it up to Rham he made some excellent blocks last night Constantly Stoning Blitzers. I know we might like a runner without the occasional Fumble Issues but Rham can catch and also Block. I think McDaniels values Rham's Blocking and Catching attributes more than we do.
We keep wanting Rham to be in the mold of Antoine Smith, Corey Dillon, etc. but his skills are more Faulk,/White'ish.

Agree-- I just think they want to make sure they don't get hit for long ones.

It's smart.

You just have to stop Derrick Henry at that point and you win the game.

I confess to having little fifth in our DC.

We came out with 6 down linemen.

Of course you're going to get hit at that point because although Lamar is very down, he can still make throws.

I thought we'd have one extra DT down there. Not 2 or 3.

Thankfully Vrabel went away from that quick once it was clear the Ravens were going to eat us alive with their TEs and Flowers.

Either that or we didn’t have 6 DL to put on the field

Easily the best win of the year and the most satisfying. Away game, hostile stadium, playoff intensity, overcoming adversity, injuries, and coming back from behind, and on national TV. This team has got to be feeling good about itself and has become even more confident.

Eliminating Baltimore from the playoffs is the chef's kiss.
Technically Baltimore is alive. They need to win out and Pittsburgh lose to Cleveland. Based on Tomlin's history, it's not out of the question they lose to the Browns.
