Pump the brakes on the hyperbole. You still get a day 1 starter at #4. If the Giants sign Lily's Honey, (i need a trademark or copywrite icon @Ian) then you sit there at #4 and wait to see if the phone rings for Sanders? No buyers? Make the pick.
Wolf said he’s picking at 4.

A 1 gap NT could reference that gap that he pass rushes into. Whereas our old NTs were 2gappers meaning that they tried to control the flow of movement through Both A gaps. So a 1 gap NT would be a person that is responsible for just one A gap and he will probably be a penetrator. I would assume, could be wrong though.
Who gets the other gap? A LBer?

Wolf said he’s picking at 4.
Sure. He's trying to drive up the value. If everyone knows they are sellers, no one will pay a premium. They need to be prepared to pick at #4 and they need to give the impression they are not dealing the pick. If the pick is not for sale, then the only thing that gets it is a vast overpayment. If everyone and his brother knows they are sellers, then they get chit for value.

If you're going to comment, you should make sure you understand what was being stated. My statement had nothing to do with Thuney's contract negotiations prior to the 2020 season. It had to do with his trade.
That's why I asked the question. Duh!

Depends on how they design the play, but when I was helping out with a high school team we would have the NT line up over the Center and crash the weak A gap and then we would have a 3 tech DT also crash the strong A gap to put pressure on the Center and both guards. the Mike and Sam shaded strongside were there to fill B and D and the DE (4 tech) would bull rush the OT, trying to rush through the C gap.

Sorry for the long story, the short answer is most likely the LB

I went down a stupid rabbit hole of college kickers after it was discussed on this board the other day and this kid

went down a PK rabbit hole the other day after it was discussed on Thai board. There’s three NFL ready plug and play kickers and he’s one of them but seems to have an unshakable edge that all the other kickers don’t. Would love to see him here

Yeah, there are a few good kickers in this draft, I’d like to see them take one. This kid is likely the best, it seems like Springer probably agrees.

Elliss doesn't suck. You're evaluations skills do.

Elliss played very well last season and improved as the season went along.
Haha. Ellis was terrible. Look at how our run D played, then watch the film and see Ellis’ part in it.
I guarantee you would never again say he played very well.

And if you look at him in coverage it’s even worse.

What's a 1 gap nose tackle? I thought nose tackles line up over the center not over a gap?
You can be a 1 gap NT and align head up on the C, you just shoot through either C/G gap.
In 2 gap defensive call, you try to neutralize the blocker and are responsible for both gaps on either side of him. Every gap has 2 defenders responsible for it.
In a 1 gap defensive call, each defender covers one gap, and penetrates it.

Every scheme uses both 1 gap and 2 gap concepts, sometimes on the same play.
Players aren’t “1 gap players” or “2 gap players” but their skill sets can make them better or worse at each. A stout player who is difficult to move off the ball is good in 2 gap, while a smaller quicker gout would struggle to 2 gap but make better use of his quickness by blasting through the gap to cause disruption.

Tonga is enormous and better suited as a 2gap player, but can one gap as well.

Our system this year will likely mix a lot of both 1 gap and 2 gap on running downs.

It has been reported that he has been working with Scar, I wonder if that would sway any teams to take him the 2nd. He has played both sides and might be valued more highly than media experts think.

I think Trapilo is more of a 3rd round pick.

Maybe not, let Sanders sit a year.
Wilson and Winston as mentors.
It could also be Carter to the Giants.

Giants might also trade the pick. Let’s chill until we see what they do. I can’t see them taking Hunter. Carter for sure but I could also see New Orleans making a deal to take Dart.

They brought back Devito too.

They aren’t stuffing the room with those 3 and Sanders.

Why would the Giants not take him?

Shefter said earlier today he still believes the giants would pick sanders if they like him, despite any signings they make at qb including if Wilson signed-
