Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Brady pulled off the greatest comeback in the history of the league with Gronk on the sideline. And TEs haven't been the problem with their offense this season.
They had Bennett in 2016. TE has been an important position for Brady. In 2019 and this year both offense greatly missed an impactful player at that position.

The last two games of the season are the only ones that matter. Division is still the Bucs to lose.

I hardly get to watch Bucs game and they rarely show missed throws in the highlight film. So watching this game was an eye opener.

Yes, there were the usual issues to complain about. But there were several deep throws (One to Miller and another to Julio) comes to mind that looked like fairly easy catches with an accurate throw but were quite underthrown. If Brady is starting to lose his deep throw accuracy, maybe there is a rhyme and reason for all the short throws,.. I can't blame Bowles and Leftwhich for losing so badly in this game.

This is what I saw too. One sided officiating. Bucs were down and out. The officials kicked them for good measure and really made sure they had completely no chance at all.

Losing the division would be disastrous. Looks like the division winner gets Dallas in the wild card. The Bucs need a good performance and a comfortable win against a very good Bengals team next week if I'm to believe they can complete with Dallas at this point.

The worst penalty was the hold on Smith that wiped out the long TD pass to Evans. It was a blatant penalty and the team never recovered from the nullified TD.

The defense was brutal today, especially the secondary, couldn't cover or tackle. It was a complete no show across the board. And that starts with poor coaching, which can't be overstating about this coaching staff.

They're about to get smoked by Cincy too if they keep playing the way they are.

Honestly I am not sure there are many QB's who could have great success with this Bucs team. OL. Receivers not getting open. Coaching. Speaking of coaching, let Brady do what Manning used to do. Basically be the OC of the offense. Every time they are in a no huddle they succeed. Otherwise, it's no good. Brady has not been great. But he still has the capability to be a top tier QB imo. The brain and mechanics have not left.

Say what you will about Arians. But him not coaching has had a huge negative impact. The 2022 Bucs are proof that coaching can sink a season. Though they will probably still win the division. I don't think they lose to the Browns, Panthers, Steelers, or GB with Arians.

If he plays next year, he will want to go to a team with talent. Tennessee doesn't have much at receiver. But they don't have great receivers. Draft will be big for them. SF seems set at QB. Believe it or not, he would be a good fit on the Jets. I just don't know if he would consider that due to the NE connection. Jets are a QB away from being legit imo.

Why should he care about NE connection when it’s a good fit and he can be close to his son while contending for a SB

Brady to SF is out of the window. Purdy is their guy.
Someone needs to post a comparison of Lance's stats and Purdy's stats without their names.

And then go: Which one is the guy it took 3 1sts to get, and which one is a 7th rounder?

Well his heroics did get them 2 wins.
This game was his worst by far
The 49ers have a great defense, so there's that, but if that's what the Bucs offense is going to look like against an elite defense then they're probably screwed. Especially if the Bucs defense is also putrid.

I won't be surprised if Purdy sucks in his next start. It's way too soon to know anything for sure about him.

Purdy played good. He could be better than JG, but also the Bucs D were bad too. So we'll see.

Putrid is the appropriate word.

The #1 defense playing against the worst coached, most predictable offense in the league went exactly how you'd expect it to. 49ers were probably laughing their asses off at how easy this game was going to be, after they saw film of a bunch of cowardly runs up the gut on 1st down and short/quick throws & screens on 2nd & 3rd.

Bowles is a total disaster.
Play-calling is BAD.
OL has been a mess all season.
No running game.
No explosiveness on offense.
Receivers aren't getting separation.
Defense is completely undisciplined.
Secondary sucks.
Special teams suck too.
What's so outrageous is that they keep trying the same exact things (more or less). No adjustments at all in terms of play calling approach.

Heck, even his tablet smashing game was poor today... He didn't get the zip on that either...
