Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

???

The defense was absolutely dominant during the SB run. Last year, it basically only played 2 games as an intact unit.
Packers went to the Super Bowl?

****! My bad. I'd read that as you referring to the Bucs. I'm actually on board with the argument that the Packers defense has been a bit overrated.

<----- Feels shame
No worries, I misread stuff from time to time.

Factoid of the Day: Tom Brady is undefeated with a 95.9 passer rating in six regular season meetings vs. Cowboys

So the #Bucs are indeed working on a salary restructure for Shaq Mason as initially reported, but it's not done yet. I'm told the $6 million-plus it reportedly could save from the cap is a tad high.

Tom’s probably going back to the NFC championship game and from there probably going to the Super Bowl. Safest bet in sports.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the world….

Honestly, the Bucs have a brutal schedule this year. Patriots season 2014’esque. They’ll be a battle hardened squad by postseason. If they head in with the division win and healthy, ring #8 going to be real close.

NO literally has an identical schedule with a worse QB coming off an ACL injury, Tampa is winning that division

More Rodgers love and Brady being doubted again. When will they ever learn.

Who will be the three best quarterbacks this season? (17 votes)
(Note: The idea was to have each voter rank their top-three QBs, but that became too challenging to execute. Instead, we just asked each voter to list their three Top 3 QBs in any order and tallied the results that way.)

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers: 13 votes
Bills QB Josh Allen: 12 votes
Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes: 10 votes
Buccaneers QB Tom Brady: seven votes
Broncos QB Russell Wilson: three votes
Chargers QB Justin Herbert: three votes
Bengals QB Joe Burrow: two votes
Rams QB Matthew Stafford: one vote

Interestingly, despite Josh Allen running away with the MVP vote, Aaron Rodgers was listed on more ballots for this question.

“He’s the best I’ve ever seen,” a voter said of Rodgers.

Also surprising, Rodgers nearly doubled Tom Brady’s votes in the battle between the old guards.

“Some would argue Tom is not in that perch, but he is to me until someone knocks him off,” another voter said.

Justin Herbert and Joe Burrow, a pair of 2020 first-rounders, made a dent in a tough list to crack. Both already are household names, but they each have a chance to be known among the league’s elite in their third season.

“I think Justin Herbert is about to blow up,” a voter said.

If they can stay healthy which they weren't last season... they're going all the way. No doubt at all.

New year same Packers love

what has it been, 11 years of the same **** before every season about the packers and the super bowl?

Rodgers is a stat padding fraud
Haha I wouldn't call him a fraud because he is pretty amazing at throwing that football, but there's more to being a QB than that and is extremely overrated.

as far as nfc championship games go he couldn’t win 2014 with his defense getting him 5 turnovers. he couldn’t win 2020 at lambeau with his defense getting him 3 turnovers

and I remember seeing some post on here about 2016 and 2019 how his nuthuggers love to blame the defense and everyone else for those but he was down 31-0 and 27-0 at one point

even in his 1 nfc championship game win he wasn’t great

yeah maybe fraud wasn’t the right word because he’s still a top 10 or 15 guy all time. but so many people have him right there at the top of best quarterbacks ever

The SF divisional lost is his worst.
He couldn't get more than 10 points when his defense only allowed 6 points(7 was special teams) after bragging that he wanted Lambeau to be cold.

I have him top 10
4 time MVP is a notable accomplishment and he is a Superbowl champion regardless.

1-Brady
2-Montana
3-Unitas
4-Manning
5-Elway
6-Graham
7-Staubach
8-Young
9-Rodgers
10-Marino

that’s a good list I don’t really have any complaints. where do you have Starr? reading some info about him from a couple of posters in the all time QB/hall of fame thread had me thinking I’ve been underrating him

I'm not sure I've never done a list that wasn't top 10. I'd put him ahead of Brees though.
