I think a lot of you misunderstand. The original thread started by PatsBoy(which I hope he's okay) was meant to follow Tom's new endeavor with a new team. There's no rooting for Tampa or anything it's mainly wishing Tom does well. Of course a lot of people cried to you and the other mods and thus this forum was created. The irony is the ones who complained to kick out all things TB12 love to venture here a lot.

Yeah it's cool. I was annoyed at Brady leaving but I grew to appreciate the thread to discuss Tom. Better than having OT Bucs GDT on the main board every week and Brady threads every week.

Brady really couldn't be in a better place from a Patriot fan perspective who still want to cheer for Tom to do well. Tampa is as irrelevant a franchise as there is to the Patriots. Not in our conference, no rivalry, no Super Bowl history, no hatred, nothing. Brady and the Bucs doing well doesn't do a thing to hurt the Patriots in the standings and in fact it might help us. They're playing the AFC North this year, and some of those teams will be battling the Pats for the wild card.

I'll admit even without Brady I have a soft spot for the Bucs ever since they intercepted Gannon 900 times in the Super Bowl and truck stomped the hated Raiders. That is still one of my favorite non Patriots Super Bowls ever.

That all changes though if he goes to Miami. I can't cheer for him there. I don't see that happening anyway thankfully.

Hasn't BB been voted the number 1 coach for 10+ years? Never understood how people could jump from one team and root for another. Oh well. lol

The last time Belichick was voted the AP NFL Coach of the Year was 2010 (the same year Brady become the first ever unanimous NFL MVP). Belichick also won the award in 2007 (the same year Brady had the greatest regular season ever for a quarterback). Belichick won the award one other time in 2003.

The Sporting News has a similar award... Belichick has won that twice (2003 & 2007).

You're not dealing with Bucs fans per se, it's Patriots fans who remained loyal to the greatest player in the history of the Patriots franchise. He plays for the Bucs now. I find it puzzling that long time Patriots fans would scrounge around for any measly amount of negativity to cast upon Brady. The franchise was nothing before him and isn't looking particularly great right now. He brought 20 years of dominance to the Patriots fanbase... the likes of which will never be witnessed again.

When you have moderator like @ashley1992 who think she detain the morale compass of the patriots fandom and basically telling that if you are not thinking like her you are not a patriots fan. It’s not surprising.

Being a mod is hard you have to deal with a bunch of personalities and opinions. Even though I think censorship has been pretty bad lately, I think all of them do a great job. It is a Patriots forum first and foremost after all. You want a place where you can discuss the team without trolling.

I think the problem is a lot of posters on this board are ultra Belicheck fans and see any success of Brady as a slight against him.

I a huge Brady fan but I won't dismiss warranted criticism like the cult of Bill does routinely.

The 2005 divisional playoff loss was on Brady. He prime David Givens and Branch, Corey Dillon, Daniel Graham, Ben Watson, Kevin Faulk, Troy Brown and Cristian Fauria.

Those were all players Brady had chemistry with and yet he failed to score more than 13 points and threw a essentially a game losing Int in the red zone that made a 14 point swing.

In general Brady has always played subpar at mile high stadium. The altitude seems to have a big affect on him.

But point out Bill benching Butler in the superbowl against Eagles as a mistake on the main board and it becomes WW3

I mainly stay because of posters like Deus and how he posts a lot of information for both Brady and pats info, making this a 1 stop shop for Brady and pats info.

If he and other such posters left I wouldn't bother here anymore.

A think tank that only wants to look at the positives of Bill and ignore and stifle any warranted criticism is boring.

I respect your opinion. There was no bigger Brady fan than myself. I am a New England Patriot fan first and foremost. I love my coach, but if/when BB leaves, I will no longer support him if he coaches another team. Same with Brady.

Brady didn't play well but he wasn't the only one. Wasn't a good game for Adam either. Also couldn't run the ball. Amazing that Jake Plummer had our number back then.

BB seems to get a lot of credit for the team winning as many as 7 games in 2020. Maybe it's just me but I actually don't think that was one of Bill's better seasons as a coach. Ironic eh?

You could also argue that Bill cost the Patriots the division last year by the decision he made at the end of the Bucs game. I had no doubt Mac converts the 4th and 3 and Patriots win.

Bah. Even as GOAT BB makes mistakes and will be under a pretty harsh microscope this season if the offense goes sideways. There's plenty of reasoned criticism on the main board.

You're reaching, false equivalency. The annual Jets Suck thread is a JOKE thread, not a fan thread. THIS is a fan thread devoted to another team, which includes ample attendant Patriots bashing, on a website dedicated to the New England Patriots.
