Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

The most remarkable thing about the Tom vs Bill nonsense is that Bill has no problem taking top dollar for himself but refused to even come close to that with Brady.

Letting Brady go was a huge blunder.

They’re gonna take one of the Saints games for once. And Watson ain’t gonna be playing for the Browns.

Ya they not losing to Cleveland off a bye with no QB
Won’t drop both NO games
And they’re not losing to Pitt and that offense lol

We'll never know about that part in bold. Imagine if Brady had been coached by Andy Reid, for example.

But look around at NFL history, and it's rare that a coach is the reason an elite player becomes an elite player. Now, a system/team is a different matter. But finding the no-talent guy who a specific coach turned into a football god is almost impossible.

And Bill for all his ability as a HC couldn't turn Cam Newton and Tim Tebow into good QB's.

Matt Cassel was interesting. We all know MC hadn't started a game since high school and he also had a dreadful preseason and I think he was on the bubble. By the end of that season he turned into a serviceable starter or at worst an excellent backup that you'd be comfortable starting for a few games when your QB1 is unavailable. I think good coaching helped him get there whether it was Bill or Josh. Probably more the latter.

I'm not saying he made Brady my main point was he helped him become what he became. I'm sure he would've been great elsewhere maybe even HOF due to his intense competitiveness, mental toughness, and the will to win which is stuff you cant measure , but he wouldn't be the GOAT without that guidance from BB in the beginning(IMO)
Can't agree with that. I think if Brady was drafted by the Steelers he would have equaled his success with the Pats.

Those early 2000s Steelers were great. They were making deep runs into the playoffs with Cordell Stewart, Cower with a rookie QB went 15-1 and went to the AFC championship then won the superbowl the following year.

I also would have hated Brady more than any other player in the history of sports in that scenario lol

Did BB really have a lot of say in Brady’s development? I bet Weis Josh and BOB had more.

I don't think that's true. Belicheck and Brady had standing meetings in which they would break film down together.

Bill definitely played a huge role in helping Brady develop his ability to watch film and break down defenses

You don't think he broke down film with the OCs?

Brady has said this. He has said Bill had the most influence on his development as a player.

Tough loss by the Celtics to an aging over the hill Warriors team. Surprised, it seemed like it was there for the taking after being up 2 to 1.

It seems Brady brought his championship luck to Tampa leaving Boston with a new curse to overcome.

Curse of the bambino is now the curse of the GOAT.

The Celtics have talent, though it's overrated. The defense is excellent, though Williams' injury made it less so. And, more importantly for the series that just ended, it's a very stupid baskteball team when it comes to the offensive side of things.

He most likely did, I would safely assume so. But it's well documented that Brady and Bill specifically spent solo time together

Maybe we got this all wrong. Seeing that the Pats, weren't talented enough to win, Bill decided to help Brady instead.

He was very fair with the trade for Gronk and Mason. Cut AB so he could eventually help TB with a SB. Anyone else next?

I agree it looks hypocritical. HOWEVER, I think Tom missed an opportunity in using his status during his time in NE to get major national endorsement deals to offset his lower salary. By his 3rd Super Bowl victory, we should have seen him pretty much like what we've recently seen him in a ton of commercials the last two years. He's late to the game, but better late than never.

Coaches don't count toward the salary cap.

Therefore it is smart, as GM of the Patriots, it makes sense for BB to invest large amounts of money for good coaches.

Was overseas for a bit on a rivah cruise and came back with cooties from Romania. Tuning in to see what latest outrage TFB has committed.

God forgive you guys and gals give any credit to Bill Belichick for Kardashian's success.
