That's weird.No. They just moved the money around but his cap will be an issue next year retired or not
Not really though. He wants to control his own destiny so why would he add years. He's a top 3 QB in the league and for the last 3 years they got him for 25m a year. That's a ridiculous bargain it almost robbery. It must frustrate owners when they see something like that. If the guy wants to add years you do it but otherwise you say thank you sir and just accept that you are a contender this year and deal with next year later. He may come back who knows. They are lucky to have him. That's weird.

Absolutely. I truly believe every major sports network has a Brady 'quota' to fill each week/month to get circulation. Has the #1 selling swag every single season. That and all the $$$ he generates

I remember when the Gisele angle first got played I posted how it was not something my wife would ever do and I didn't respect Gisele for pushing Brady out of football. I think you could be right.I don’t believe so. At least not as it related to this past off-season. It was pretty clear that Brady had a plan where he was trying to get off of Tampa Bay and go to Miami. If his fake retirement was really about Gisele pushing him then she would have separated from him right now. I mean what was it six weeks? That’s not Gisele doing anything. That was Brady making a business decision for his career. Most likely with her blessing.
It's funny how people can still doubt Brady in spite of everything. Unfortunately, Bob and Bill decided that Brady was only worth 15 mil, not 25, even though he was the only QB they had. What a major screw up that was.Not really though. He wants to control his own destiny so why would he add years. He's a top 3 QB in the league and for the last 3 years they got him for 25m a year. I still wouldn't count out the Bucs. Most of their best players are signed for this year and 2023. So they are still built to win after this season. The cap is not an issue as it is easy to do cap magic and push the cap hit down the road.If Tua is a disaster this season then Brady’s playing for Miami in 2023. I think that’s a fait accompli.
The Bucs do seem to have a high number of quality players. If Brady leaves they'll need a QB, something that Bill didn't consider.I still wouldn't count out the Bucs. I know it's likely this is Brady's last year but if he has another great season, it's possible that he pushes retirement out another year.
Bucs have to continue to be aggressive.
I think he is going to at least age 47 which is mind boggling. The Bucs do seem to have a high number of quality players. If Brady leaves they'll need a QB, something that Bill didn't consider.
It will definitely be interesting to see when Brady goes over the cliff and how sudden it will be. At this point it's hard not to believe that he could go over his stated goal of playing until he's 45 and play in 2023.

If Tua is a disaster this season then Brady’s playing for Miami in 2023. I think that’s a fait accompli. Though Sean Peyton won’t be in the picture since the new coach won’t be at risk. The whole minority owner stake may or may not be possible at the same time since it would require a super majority of owners to allow it which seems unlikely for an active player.
But if Tua is at least good then that’s that, Miami won’t dump him for a 46 year old Brady quite obviously. Then the question is if Brady comes back to the Bucs or if he’s truly done playing at that point. My hope is another run with the Bucs.
Brady was 43. Stafford 34. Brady averaged 30+ points in every single post-season game - an NFL record. Oh and Brady made $25 mil while Stafford made $40 mil AND Brady switched conferences. What Brady did in 2020 was no different than what Matthew Stafford did for the Rams in 2021. In fact, Stafford's 2021 post season run was statistically better.

It sure is mind boggling, especially considering his level of play. I remember seeing George Blanda play, the closest to Brady's age, but he wasn't a QB by then. He was a kicker.I think he is going to at least age 47 which is mind boggling.
And 25 million is 10 million short of what the Pats offered Brady. What a disgraceful way to treat the GOAT QB after all he did for the Pats. Unfortunately, not paying players who become great while making top dollar for himself seems to be Bill's MO.Brady was 43. Stafford 34.
