I don’t believe so. At least not as it related to this past off-season. It was pretty clear that Brady had a plan where he was trying to get off of Tampa Bay and go to Miami. If his fake retirement was really about Gisele pushing him then she would have separated from him right now. I mean what was it six weeks? That’s not Gisele doing anything. That was Brady making a business decision for his career. Most likely with her blessing.

Brady's 2020 and 2021 contract was fair for both sides. Remember his 2019 season was his worse season in a long time and appeared to indicate he might only have 1 year left. For me, I blamed it mostly on the offensive talent but also partly on a Brady decline to some degree. Of course, it has been now proven without a doubt that it was not Brady at all.. Nkeal, 2 scrub TE, a soon to be out of league Hogan, a rookie Meyers transitioning from a QB, enough said.

What's curious is why Brady agreed to the contract extension, at what seemed like a bargain even for his standard, so eagerly and quickly,.. probably due to the leftover euphorio of the SB.

What do you mean by supposedly? We've heard it from Giselle herself (the attempting, not the specific length of time she's been trying).

I think it is a ruse by both of them. Remember she is the most successful model in the world - she knows the game. I think they decided long ago that Brady would use her and the kids as a shield for this football career. If she really wanted him retired and was giving any type of ultimatums as many of us have surmised, they would be divorced by now. Especially this past offseason where he literally said he felt it was time to spend time with her and the kids given all their sacrifice for his career and then did an about face in six weeks with her blessing.

The Bucs have signed former USF and Falcons defensive lineman Deadrin Senat. He's 27, a former third-round pick for Atlanta, had 30 tackles as a rookie in 2018 but hasn't played much since, last in 2020. Will compete for a backup DL spot this fall in Tampa.

That makes no sense. There is no need for a 40+ year old football player to have any such shield.

If Tom Brady simply retires after this season, Bucs can shift some of his significant dead money to the 2024 cap. If he were to sign with another team, Bucs could have as much as $33 million in dead money counting for Brady in 2023.

Huh. That’s certainly interesting. Feels like the Bucs wouldn’t exactly be expecting Brady to go to another team if they agree to this poison pill. Unless something weird like a sign and trade was agreed to but that’s not ever an NFL thing.
