Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

#Bucs QB Tom Brady was informed Bruce Arians planned to step down and Todd Bowles would succeed him as head coach either the same day or a day after the QB announced he was ending his retirement, the @TB_Times has learned. Team insists it was not related to Brady’s decision.

Todd Bowles’ new five-year HC contract was finalized earlier today, per source.

I am not a conspiracy theorist. Like at all. I despise them.

But not for sports, those I love.

I love the Frozen Envelope, the Secret Jordan Suspension, the 2002 NBA Western Conference Finals, and I will believe forever Brady forced Arians out.

If Brady had anything to do with BA retiring, we'll know for sure if he signs an extension to play w/ Bucs in 2023.

This is a good point. With a new head coach, Bucs are allowed to start their offseason programs (initially just conditioning work) two weeks earlier, on April 4. (Might not be able to in full, as players were expecting April 18)

How so? An extension has always made sense, for cap purposes.

When Bruce Arians, Jason Licht and the Glazer family began discussing the succession plan, they talked to the NFL and were informed this week they were within the guidelines to proceed with their plan.

Of the 12 #Bucs head coaches (Bowles is the 13th), Arians is only the third to exit with a winning record (31-18 regular season). His .633 win percentage is by far the best in franchise history.

Just another item, Todd Bowles learned of Bruce Arians decision and the Bucs plan to hire him as head coach on Monday.

Bruce Arians text to the #Buccaneers’ players. Echoes what he’s said elsewhere about the reason for the timing of his decision.

Sure but only if he agrees to continue playing for the Bucs since he's a FA in 2023. Honestly, if he doesn't retire again I can't see him wanting to start all over again in a new system. I hope he does extend his contract to get 2 more years out of the GOAT.

This should help them sign defensive players since Bowles has a good reputation w/ the players. Not too many black DCs end up as HCs.

It’s pretty clear to me that Brady came back when he was certain that the Arians clown show was over

Remember the Bucs knew for several days they Brady was coming out of retirement before he made the announcement.

Brady actually winning a Super Bowl with Todd Bowles as his head coach might top everything else he’s done.

Arians is bad too tho but ya

Who is the DC going to be?
