Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Gronk seems pretty far removed from making a return to football at this point. Brate actually looked pretty decent for the first time this season until he got hurt. It was good to see White get more involved in the passing game too.

Brady looks like Brady and clearly is still capable of elite quarterbacking. So the key to their offense is Godwin and Evans remaining available... the rest is just going to be filler. Julio Jones is just going to be incredibly frustrating regarding his availability. They're likely to get more out of Gage and even Perriman. The running game has completely disappeared but it's really the complimentary aspect of their offense and should be adequate in that regard.

The defense got embarrassed by the Chiefs so hopefully that has lit a fire under their *sses. They've got 3 get-right opponents lined up so that should help the team regain some momentum for facing the Ravens and the Rams... they've got to win 1 or even both of those games or they're going to look like a team who can only beat the weaker opponents.
The small window for Gronk coming back will probably be shut after their Germany game.

I'm still holding out hope that Julio can be healthy for at least a few games in a row. Evans, Godwin, Julio healthy all at the same time for more than one game in a row could be fireworks. That should help the other guys get easier matchups Gage, Perriman, Fournette, White, and Miller.

I don't take the weaker opponents for granted. Beat the weaker opponents and you're an automatic playoff team. Brady with Patriots and now Bucs are almost automatic wins against weaker opponents. Pats lost that edge. If you can't beat the weaker opponents, it doesn't matter how you do against the strong opponents as you're not making the playoffs. Might as well lose and get a better draft.

If it makes anyone feel better I’m sure you could definitely beat me up.

Oooh .. fightin' words! From an anonymous Internet tough guy. What does the "NG" stand for anyway -- No Gonads?
I was just joking…You can dish it but you can’t take it. One of those guys

I don't recall "dishing out" anything to you or anyone else before your OT bit about fighting. Yeah, one of those guys.

Russel Wilson right now is proving Pete and the entire Legion of Boom right. Woof.
Wilson has been garbage for Denver but I still think he's got some quality football left in him. Although, I've never understood the free pass he was given for the Butler interception... completely horrible play on Wilson's part... it wasn't just about Butler anticipating the throw.

I have zero faith in Julio staying healthy but he's reportedly good to go for this weekend. Perriman too, which should make Miller the odd man out. We'll hopefully get at least a full game's worth of Evans, Goodwin, Julio, Gage and Perriman... I'm expecting 30+ points and an easy win for Tampa Bay.

I believe Brady will sign a 2 year deal with the Fins next year. I would not also bet against him trying to play until 50 especially with the divorce.
That would be interesting. Or the 49ers. Although if the Bucs pull it together, get healthy and pull out a SB win this year somehow, I think he should just retire.

In 2 of Bradys' 3 Bucs seasons, the team has been severely impacted by injuries.
Well at least there's no season ending injuries to the key guys other than Jensen. They just have to be in good health come the late push. They should win this game Falcons literally have their two best offensive weapons out

Too bad about Brate as he'd been better over the last two weeks. Hopefully his reps will go to Otton who will probably have very favorable matchups with all of the WRs healthy for this weekend at least. I'll repeat, I don't know why they are bothering with Kyle Rudolph, he should follow Beasley's lead.

Bucs' next three opponents, by NFL rank in passing yards: Falcons 30th, Steelers 28th, Panthers 29th. By passer rating: Falcons 28th, Steelers 31st, Panthers 30th.

Sounds like Bucs will list Julio Jones as questionable for Sunday vs. Falcons. He's practiced this week -- wasn't any new injury that limited him Sunday vs. Chiefs, so I'd think they'll just see how he feels Sunday morning.

With Brate out, I'd think rookie Cade Otton gets the most reps at tight end. Kyle Rudolph will dress, but he's been a healthy scratch in three of four games so far. Plenty of rookie Ko Kieft as well on Sunday.

As much as Falcons like to run, and with Pitts out, I’d think Bucs are in base defense much more than usual on Sunday. We’ll see.

Brady needs a 6 TD game to boost his appetite... he's looking almost disturbingly thin at this point.

So Godwin, Gage and Smith don't have any injury designation for Sunday. They're as healthy as they can be

Maybe they know something we don't. I wonder if Bowles taking a personal day off on Wednesday might have something to do with it.
