Again I don't see no way wynn plays tackle. They will give him a chance but tell me successful tackles under 6'3 right now in the nfl.

ACL injury with a loose knee post-surgery. Add in the bone-on-bone possibility and you've got a platoon player who'll probably have a shortened career.

It's amazing that bill takes these risks. One more injury and it's all she wrote for Michel

Yes. Wynn was a top-15 player, easily. Mason has one year left, then they'll probably lose him. Maybe Wynn does play LT for them...maybe Garcia does. Watch them take Daniels tomorrow and half the board jumps off the ledge.
I don’t know if it’s a possibility or not, but Joe Thuney did play two years (including his senior year) at LT. He’s 6’5,” has experience in our system which may help a lot, and we’re already pretty deep on the interior.

They may not rush directly to that decision, but if neither Garcia nor Wynn are looking up to the part, we could see some experimentation with moving Thuney over and having Garcia/Croston as a backup. That would leave Wynn, Mason, Andrews, and Karras as our main interior guys.

I'm surprised that he's gambling on this sort of thing this early. He usually waits until round two for those players. After Easley, I didn't expect another round one gamble for a while. But the team needed a RB after letting Lewis walk, and I guess need + speed won out over injury issues in the minds of the Patriots.

Havent read the whole thread, but did Landry get a huge red flag or something that I missed hearing about? ?

I guess, we are looking at moving to a power running game, like I said the other day.

Michel is not a power back - Chubb did that for Georgia.

After watching Lamar interview on the podium Im glad we didnt take him, he sounds and looks dumb as a bag of rocks.

He creeps me out the same way that Andy Dalton does.

Not trying to be a buzzkill but averaging 7 YPC in college is not unheard of
Please name 5 players who averaged 7.5 yards per carry or greater other than Michal from D1. Im curious since i hadnt heard of any previously. 5-7, sure, but nearly 8??

It might be that he’s not so good a settting the edge but I did see some discussion on twitter about possible red flags.

Power was the wrong word to use. Expect another O-line player in the 2nd round, possibly a TE.

The Sony pick is risky but high reward if things work out.
My concern is more on the defensive end, after Hightower our depth takes a huge dip.

It’s a fairly common occurrence.
It happens all the time. Bryce love averaged over 8. A handful of guys averaged over 8 in their careers. Reggie bush averaged over 8 in 05

Here’s some lists

You want the weakest arm in the NFL?
That may be a bit unfair, or at least overplayed. While he may not have the strongest arm for longer, downfield throws, he was basically one of the more accurate passers in college football last year, at least in terms of short to intermediate passes. I like White better, I think, but I’m certainly no expert. I wouldn’t be mad with Kyle Lauletta, though.

Sam Darnold averaged around 2 turnovers per game, last year. He looked downright pathetic at times. Allen had poor accuracy against mediocre competition. We’ve already addressed Jackson’s issues. It may have really been between Mayfield (a bit of a loose cannon with maturity issues who’s barely 6 ft tall) and Rosen. It’s not like any of those guys are “sure things.” All of them had pros and cons, strengths and faults. Yes, the odds improve with a first round QB, but that doesn’t mean that one can’t be found and groomed from the 2nd round, either.

Yes, my initial reaction to reading that the Pats drafted and OG and a RB was surprise. But then i remembered i hadnt done nearly the in depth research tgat I'd done in past years.

- Wynn - has the arms and weight to be a LT in this league. He also has excellent technique, good knee bend and quick feet. That screams OT for tge NFL. Certain people getting hung up on height forget that there are always exceptions. Wynn seems like he is one.

- Michal - even now, I'm perplexed by this pick. The Pats gave James White who is an excellent 3rd down back. They just gave Burkhead a decent contract. They brought in Hill to compete like they did Burkhead last year. And they still had Gillislee, though his days might be numbered now. As for his knees, people need to offer up some actual proof or stop spreading rumors.

As for Michal, it is fascinating to me that he put up 7.9 yards per carry. Clearly plays faster than he tests. Regarding his hands, he had 12 fumbles (5 lost) over his career. 1fumble per 131 touches. He only had 2 fumbles in 2017.

I'd like to know if he ran the 20 yard shuttle at his Pro-Day.
