Now, it's time to gather an official record of people's picks three days before the draft, to see how close or far off we were on guessing Belichick's actual moves. You can make any prediction, such as trading up, trading down, packaging picks, staying put...basically whatever you think will actually happen. QUOTE]

No. 21 CB Richard Marshall (There will be a run on CBs in Round 1)
No. 56 WR Maurice Stovall
No. 75 WR Mike Hass
No. 86 OLB Stanley McGlover

woah why would we choose 2 WRs that early? We have Caldwell who was good enough to play #2 with Chargers before injuries..so hes likely a 2 or 3 for us. i support idea of getting 2 WRs but 1 will be in near end from 5-7 and hopefully get a good player that will develope like Givens former 7th rounder

I'm going with a little off the wall pick. I think he's going to be
used differently than any of us are anticipating. I don't think we
can draft W.McGinest. So, I'm moving Vrabel outside in our 3-4. He
may slide inside on long yardage situations. I would like a situational
pass-rusher. Remember Fred Dean? Old Chargers de. I'm going with
Tamba Hali to fill that role. Situational rusher. I'm drafting A.Hodge
to take Vrabel's spot at ilb. I've read he's the most sure tackler
in the draft. We get the 2nd best pass-rusher in the draft and
the best tackler. Not a bad haul.

1. T.Hali - de - Penn St
2. A. Hodge - ilb - Iowa

Then I start to go for offense; 2 wr's,ol,rb,te. Maybe, a backup ng
and k around 6th round.

Round #1 - Richard Marshall, CB, Fresno St.
Round #2 - Mark Anderson, DE/OLB, Alabama

Mark Anderson profile

Wow, I like your style, Dude. That was exactly where I was going. Either that or Youboty/Anderson.

Actually, I'll go with Youboty/Anderson to be different. :D

I don't, those guys were each picked a round too early for me.

How many rounds early was Mankins picked? ;)

I dig those two picks.

21 Bobby Carpenter, Manny Lawson
52 Kelly Jennings
75 Mo Drew
86 Mike Hass

4a, 4b Baba Oshinowo, Olllie Hoyte , Charlie Whitehurst, Tony Schlegel

1st - Wimbley/Lawson OLB (I will waffel between these two until we are on the clock)

2nd - Marshall CB. A move up in the second for one of the fourth rounders can get it done

3rd A- Avant WR. I would have liked Stoval but he would be gone by now

3rd B - Greg Eslinger C. Somehow has been eclipsed by Mangold and has dropped on most boards to fourth round. A steal in the late third.

Has anyone hear seen "Let it Ride", where Richard Dreyfuss asks the general public who they have picked in one of the races and continues to cross out every horse until there is one left. Then he picks that horse to win. I bet if you tally all of the names listed here, BB will pick someone we never saw coming and it will be the best pick of all.

That is such one step thinking. BB is two steps ahead.

So instead of taking someone that nobody suspects, he will instead take the someone everyone expects therefore doing the unexpected. By taking a Carpenter or Lawson, he will throw other teams way off the mark as they were sure he was not going too, since everyone seemed to think they would. Classic two step thinking.

Or, it could be that we are overthinking the draft a bit (ya don't say...), and Belichick ends up drafting large 1st round guys who are safe and not risky selections. Maybe he'll draft a DL again and feature a revolutionary 5-DL defense next year. Or, maybe he'll draft a TE again and create a 3-tight-end offense (T-bone formation, 1930's style)!
