The Patriots have NEVER cut a newly acquired veteran (or drafted rookie) before the season starts whose jersey is available in the team's pro shop. Not that I ever thought Chad was in danger of not making the team, but this should dispel any of the media speculation we've read. This might seem silly to some but it's a business after all, and I have a pretty good hunch that more than guesswork goes into what otherwise would seem a minor thing.

No Haynesworth jersey has been offered yet. Hmm ...

If BB thinks he deserves to be cut, he'll be cut. And if that happens, all of those jerseys will go very quickly to the cut-rate rack.

We needed proof that BB is not Childress in disguise? Really??

No, he won't be cut. BB has already given word through channels to the marketing department that he's on the team. Book it.

hell my Large Ochocinco replica jersey I ordered 1 week ago... is back ordered and I have to wait 2-4 more weeks

The XL is Back-ordered as well

Ocho for the win and lead in NFL jersey sales this year??? I think so

OTOH, such players (e.g., John Lynch) have retired in the past. . . .

Wow......... Who would thunk that the secret to our success all these years starts in the pro shop........ We need to get Jimmy the counter boy in on some of our "Predict the 53" threads

I think Lynch was actually released. If it was retirement, it was after he was informed he wasn't making the team. Altough I can't comment on whether his jersey was for sale.

I hope Fat Albert plays next week.

I think that Albert isn't going to be seen until that 8/23rd court date is in his rear view mirror.

Chad will be cut if:

He doesn't block. The Welker play is inexcusable. BB has no use for receivers that won't block. Chad needs to understand that about half of the plays he lines up for will require him to be a decoy/blocker.

Chad will be cut if:

He continues to seek attention in ways that require intervention by the league office. The last thing BB and/or the franchise wants is some kind of reprimand from Goodell regarding Chad. The latest example of this is Chad's proclamation that he will pay Foster's fine. The league frowns on this for obvious reasons. If a player doesn't have to pay his own fine, it becomes open season for first offenses. If Chad was sincere about paying Foster's fine he just would have put a check in the mail. Instead he had to inform the world. It's all about the attention.

Chad will be cut if:

He doesn't learn the play book cover to cover and become in total sync with Brady. I think he is on his way to doing this and that neither should be a problem. If Chad can adjust his desire for attention and let his play on the field bring it to him, he can become a very successful player here. I wish him only the best.

Yeah, he and BB mutually decided it wasn't going to work out before the last preseason game; Lynch asked to play the whole game as a "retirement gift," and BB said yes.

Yeah thats the story.
Sorry you wasted your coin.

Won't happen. BB knows it. I know it. The pro shop knows it. :singing:
