He's still young. Move him to tackle.

I remember when he was being recruited out of high school, some wanted him as a tackle.

He's essentially a blocker only, so it's definitely in the Allen mold. But, he's had trouble staying healthy.

Plenty of left tackles started as tight ends in high school or college. Plenty of room for a big young TE though, conversions are hit or miss.

correct. but he never played a snap at ND at T. he did play LB every game his frosh season. moved to TE his soph season and played behind Eifert. had a pretty good JR year (5TD's) and was the 4th TE off the board

You never know in a case like this, might be a winner or just TC fodder... hope for the former. See all sorts of numbers re: his height either 6'6" or 6'7".. either way a tall dude.

Gotta hit on these longshots once and a while, hook him up with Guerrero and his injuries will not longer be a factor.

It won't take very much for Niklas to be an improvement over Allen as a pass catcher. Allen had no rapport with Brady and looked very awkward as a receiver.
