If Zappe was as good as Purdy, Mac would be hearing footsteps for his job. He’s not so…

In my very humble and unimportant opinion, I think Bill likes Zappe but also felt it was too soon to give up on a first-round QB in a year where the OL was a disaster and the playcalling situation is poor. He's rolling with Mac to both A) really get a good bearing on what he has heading into the offseason, B) show that he feels Mac is a starting QB in any potential offseason trade discussions, and C) because he feels that overall Mac is better prepared to get the team to a playoff spot than a rookie due to a year of NFL experience plus several years of Alabama experience.

It makes sense to me for '22, but I think the QB position is very much up in the air for '23.

He's had a SuperBowl and MVP caliber season since leaving your absolute favorite team, yet you still have the audacity to act like a sanctimonious clown when he's having a bit of a down year, compounded with awful coaching and injuries.
